A Newbury business owner and his fiancé have found their ideal home at David Wilson Homes’ aspirational development The Chase at Newbury Racecourse, after seeking a modern and contemporary property in the area.

Ross Garnish, who runs The Hair Shed in Newbury and Dan Sargeant, a business development manager, both 31, were over the moon to find their new four-bedroom home suited their needs perfectly, after looking for a property to buy together.

The Racecourse Road development provides them with a slice of luxury living and a unique view, with their new home having stunning views overlooking the famous race track. They were previously living just outside Newbury in an apartment until they found somewhere they wanted to set down their roots and are now enjoying their new property with their cat.

Ross says: “We loved the idea of purchasing a new build home because we both have very busy lifestyles, so we needed something low maintenance that didn’t need any work doing to it. Upsizing was very important to us as well as we really wanted more space and we were attracted to the racecourse because we knew it was something a bit different.

“We weren’t expecting to fall in love with the development so quickly but once we saw the layout of the property we’ve chosen and the views across the track, we knew it was somewhere we wanted to call home. The property is spacious and modern with good sized rooms and decent parking. It’s also really close to Newbury town centre which is exactly what we were looking for.”

Having lived in London before moving back to the area a couple of years ago, the couple were keen to find something with more space and great commuter links. They are reaping the benefits of three-storey living in their new Highclere style townhouse and benefit from stunning views across the racecourse from their kitchen, living room and bedroom.

The couple used the developer’s Part Exchange scheme, which is ideal for those who are looking to move to a larger home who are struggling to find a buyer, or simply want to cut out all the hassle of selling the property independently. It means a guaranteed buyer at fair market value and it takes the stress away from the customer, allowing them to stay in their old home until their new home is ready. The re-landscaping of the racecourse has created a greener environment for residents to enjoy with stunning open spaces and cycle paths, meaning there’s plenty for people to do.

Newbury benefits from fantastic transport links with the A34 and Junction 11 of the M4 motorway being just a short distance from the development. The adjacent rail station offers direct links to London in just 26 minutes as well as other major cities making the development an ideal haven for working professionals. Conveniently located close to commuter links with breathtaking views of the lush Berkshire landscape, Newbury Racecourse offers the best of town and country living.
