Change Of Lifestyle With Move To Weston-Super-Mare

Posted 8 October 2021 by Helen Christie

A family of three generations have moved from their home of 26 years in London to start a new life in Weston-super-Mare...

Paul and Deborah Gallagher, along with their daughter Seanann, 24, and two-year-old granddaughter Kiara have found their perfect four-bedroom home at Lovell Homes’ Foxglove Meadows development, off Woodside Avenue in Hutton.

Moving more than 130 miles away and out of the city for the first time, the family were inspired to relocate to the southwestern village after visiting a close relative.

Deborah, 53, says: “My brother was looking for somewhere to live away from London a few years ago, and for a quieter lifestyle, he chose to move from Uxbridge to Uphill village in Weston. After a couple of visits to see him, it was easy to see why he had moved to the area.

“Paul and I had planned to move out of London for a while. We didn’t want to leave it until we retired, so we could make the most of living in a peaceful new rural area.

“Paul came across Foxglove Meadows online after looking for new build homes around Uphill. We decided to visit the development on a trip to see my brother, and as soon as we saw the showhome, we were absolutely smitten.”

Deborah and her family secured their very own four-bedroom Tennyson property at the development on June 30, the day of the Stamp Duty holiday deadline, enabling them to save thousands of pounds on their house move.

Deborah says: “As soon as I saw the Tennyson’s kitchen at Foxglove Meadows, I was sold. I’d always wanted a kitchen island, and I was blown away by the amount of storage and space the room has.

“We were all living together in a four-bedroom home prior to our move, which we had converted from a three-bedroom home. The Tennyson is much more spacious than our previous place, and we now have a study, which will help me for when I return to work as a teacher. Both Seanann and Kiara have their own bedrooms, and the fourth-bedroom and study are currently being used as rooms for our guests to stay in – they love it!”

The Gallaghers had a specific set of requirements in mind to help them find their ideal home. One of the family’s preferences was to find a suitable and spacious new build property in a well-connected location.

Deborah says: “Finding a new build property was important for us, although we hadn’t owned one before, we knew that it would be much more practical as we are a busy family and won’t necessarily have the time to do any work on the house.

“There are lots of additional benefits that come with owning a brand new home too, such as the NHBC 10-year Buildmark warranty, and having a site team on hand to help you during your move and once you have settled in.”

The location of Foxglove Meadows ticked all the boxes for the family.

Deborah adds: “Since moving, we’ve made day trips to London a couple of times, and when we come home it’s a wonderful feeling to see all the hills and feel the fresh air – it makes a huge difference. We are now just a five-minute car journey away from where my brother lives and from the beach, where we take our two Chocolate Labradors Aston and Buddy for their daily walks. The dogs love their new home!”

Deborah and Paul have praised Lovell for its high-quality homes and high standard of customer service.

Deborah says: “The team at Lovell couldn’t have made our move easier for us. As the buyers of our previous home wanted to move in quickly, we needed a quick and easy move, and Lovell pulled out all the stops to ensure that we did.

“Due to our quick move, the team at Lovell had to pick our home designs and extras for us, and we really couldn’t have picked better ourselves – we’re so pleased with everything.

“We’ve already recommended Foxglove Meadows to our family, and I have even been planning to show my mum around the showhome. She is looking into finding her own place here in the next couple of years, she really loves the development.

“Other family members are already considering a move here too! We would definitely recommend buying with Lovell Homes.”

At Foxglove Meadows, house-hunters can move just in time for Christmas by securing one of the final four-bedroom Kipling style homes. As part of an exclusive deal on this house style, the Kipling comes with carpets included, and tours of the Kipling view home are now available with a prior appointment.
