Forever Home And Community For Couple In Okehampton
In October 2020, at the height of the pandemic, civil servants David and Lianne moved into their forever home in Okehampton, Devon. However, they never expected to become a part of such a tight-knit community.
The couple had considered relocating for a long time and explored several locations across Devon. With family in the area, they looked at buying in areas such as Exeter and Barnstaple. “We came across Redrow’s Romansfield development and really liked the look and feel of the location,” says Lianne. “Unlike other new builds we had viewed, these houses didn’t look like a block of lego bricks. David says: “The sales staff have been incredible from start to finish. Uprooting your life is never easy, but they truly helped us in the process, especially at a time when we thought it would be impossible to move. Even after making the move we have maintained contact with the sales team, which is so lovely.”
Lianne and David were not the only ones moving to the Okehampton development during Covid, and going through the same phase of life at the same time has truly created a unique community in the area.
“The true sense of community is fantastic,” continues Lianne. “Covid was tough, but it united the neighbours in the area and we all came together around those who had Covid. It’s also been fun to interact with our neighbour’s pets, as we don’t have any ourselves, and we’re doing a Jubilee party together this summer!’
