Ideal First Home For Newly Engaged Couple
Young couple Suky and Jennifer were looking for their first home together, and visited Cala Homes (West) Jocelin Gardens development in Bishopbriggs.
Having worked with Cala for seven and a half years, Suky knew the homebuilder and its homes inside out, and it wasn’t long before they had chosen a plot of their own and reserved it at Jocelin Gardens.
After reserving a four-bedroom Blair house type in June 2021, Suky was already thinking about their future together and his next steps, and it was on a lovely September day on the Cala development, where Suky went down on one knee to propose to Jennifer. She said yes – marking the beginning of the rest of their lives together.
The journey to that moment began nearly a year prior when the couple started the search for their first home.
The pair instantly had their heart set on a Cala Home, and it was love at first sight for Cala Homes (West) engineering manager, Suky and Jennifer, business manager, when they visited the duo of show homes at the Bishopbriggs development.
Suky says: “We couldn’t be happier. This is our first home together and it fulfils our needs and more. It’s such an adaptable place to live, it feels really homely but also very spacious at the same time, which is perfect for us.”
The Blair, a spacious family home with a detached garage, offers open plan living at its best with a large kitchen and family room with stylish bi-fold doors leading out to a private rear garden. The front of the home features a lounge and separate dining room, and downstairs WC.
Suky continues: “Our favourite room in our new home is definitely the open plan kitchen, dining and living area at the back of the property. Our bi-fold doors open right out into our garden, giving us plenty of room to entertain our friends and family. This space has an extra special place in our hearts too, as it looks out onto the part of the development where we got engaged. Working for Cala, I know the quality and craftmanship that goes into each and every home and that was a huge pull for us. We knew our first home together was being built with care and attention and the finished product certainly has lived up to expectations.”

As well as a sizeable entertainment space, Suky and Jennifer’s new home also boasts four double bedrooms, two en-suites and a luxury family bathroom, giving them plenty of room to grow into in the future.
Suky adds: “The additional living room was also a big factor for us. We even have plans to turn it into a games room in the future. We’re both big kids at heart!”
Jocelin Gardens is now fully reserved however Cala Homes (West) has a collection of developments across the west of Scotland with a variety of homes from one-bedroom apartments to four- and five-bedroom detached homes, including Sequoia Meadows in Jackton; Prince’s Quay and Jordanhill Park in Glasgow; Gilchrist Gardens in Erskine; Woodend Green in Houston; Balgray Gardens in Newton Mearns; Earls Rise in Stepps and Florence Wynd in Ayr.
