Gloucestershire Couple Achieve Home Dreams With Shared Ownership
Posted 16 November 2022 by
Helen ChristieClaudio Liquori, 31, who is originally from Italy, and his fiancé Rosa, 28, were previously living in Banbury with their dog Ciccio, but came across The Avenue in their search for the perfect home, as they already loved the area and knew they wanted to live in the countryside.
The couple settled on a two-bedroom, semi-detached home, which they purchased via Shared Ownership.
Claudio says: “It is a very nice feeling to be on the property ladder after being denied a mortgage in the past. We looked at other options, but our mortgage advisor said they were not feasible. We would recommend Shared Ownership to people who are just starting out and want to feel they own something.”
The couple were confident that a new build property would be the right fit for them, so they purchased their home off-plan, which allowed them to have a say in the interiors.
Claudio notes: “New builds have very good insulation and much better fibre connection, and the electricity is built to meet upgraded standards, which is very important. We love the kitchen and lounge especially, and that we were able to choose our own flooring and counters, as we had already looked at other homes and had an idea of what we wanted. Now we’re settled in, I love walking in the front gate and having my dog coming to cheer me up. It’s brilliant knowing it is our home, we’re not renting or paying someone else. The pride is there, and we can now sit very happily in our kitchen enjoying a coffee.”
