Moving house has previously been named as one of the most stressful life events, but for Darryl and his young family – including pregnant wife, Tali – opting for a new build home in Chipping Ongar was the perfect remedy.
Darryl said: “Due to my wife being pregnant, we felt that moving into a new-build would be the least stressful option with the property being in brand-new condition.”
He is a successful international payments professional working for a firm in London, so relocating slightly further afield from his employer was a concern at first, but he says those worries have long passed now.
“Due to the pandemic I am currently working from home, but I was very happy to find that high-speed fibre optic broadband was live from the day we moved in. We had internet straightaway and I was able to continue working from home from the Monday. When I eventually go back to the office, my commute will be slightly further but that balances out with the improvement in the quality of life in our new house and area.
“Everyone in the area is friendly and it really feels as though we all want what is best for the development. There are amenities nearby and the highroad is only a two-minute drive away, but as Ongar is very up-and-coming I wouldn’t be surprised to see more community development here in the future – it’s exciting to be a part of that!”
The four-bedroom ‘Montpellier’ home was the final property to be sold on the Livingstone Gardens development, with the exterior presentation and surroundings catching the eye of Darryl’s family on numerous journeys past the location.
“We had driven past the development a few times on the way to viewing other homes and one day we decided to drive in. We were really impressed with how it looked as a whole and the quality of the properties within. Upon looking inside, we honestly loved it all and are delighted with the garden which is a great size for a new build! The home itself feels spacious and of real quality.”
Darryl and his two young children, Jayden, 6, and Casey, 3, are sport enthusiasts and have made good use of the outdoor space and surrounding area throughout lockdown.
Darryl commented: “I am very much into football and cycling, and love getting outside to play with my kids. They love the outdoors so playing football or just running around the garden with them is great, and we’re so appreciative of the outdoor space we have.”
