First Home Stands Out From The Crowd

With their first baby on the way, Pavittardeep Singh (30) and Harkiran Bhuller (29) wanted a home they could call their own. Having moved to Norfolk in September 2019, Pavittardeep had taken a new job in Seething while Harkiran continued her job at Heathrow Airport, the couple rented a two-bedroom home and started looking for their dream first home. Six months later the couple finally settled in their perfect home at Bovis Homes (part of Vistry Group) Birch Gate in Wymondham.

Pavittardeep explained: “We had not been living in the area for very long. A friend recommended we look around Wymondham as it has good schools, which was important to us with our first child on its way. So, we decided to concentrate on searching for homes in that part of Norfolk. We knew we wanted three bedrooms so we had that extra room for flexibility and a nice garden was vital too. We viewed quite a few properties over a six-month period seeing about 18 in total. Birch Gate was one of the last we visited.”

The couple had only spotted the advert for Birch Gate when they were on their way to view a property at another development. They decided to make an appointment to view a couple of homes and fell in love with ‘The Magnolia’ house type: “We just loved it straightaway, it was the best house we had seen. We viewed it in late May, just after the market opened up again. The house was not quite complete when we saw it, but the Bovis team said it would be complete by September and it was indeed completed on time. So we moved in at the end of September as planned and our little boy, Amitojh was born at the end of October. It all worked out perfectly!”

Pavittardeep and Harkiran bought the three-bedroom, semi-detached home at Birch Gate using Help to Buy and although they were looking at both second-hand and new build homes it was the quality, style, location of the home and amazing communication from the sales team at Birch Gate that made their decision to buy there easy as Pavittardeep added: “Being able to use Help to Buy was a great bonus and then it was the small details such as the flooring and white goods being included in the price that we both liked. We felt it showed an attention to detail and a better level of customer care than we were finding at other developments. It was also very nice to be able to move into a brand-new home, especially with our first baby on the way, as it meant there would be nothing for us to do except put our personal stamp on it, like decorating a room for Amitojh.”

Location was also a key factor for the couple as schools would soon become a priority for them. Birch Gate boasts three nearby highly regarded schools for children of all ages and is a short walk from the train station and Wymondham town centre which appealed to the couple.
