Housebuilder’s ‘Bond’ Leads To Couple’s Ideal Home

Posted 28 June 2021 by Keith Osborne

The Bewley Bond scheme took the hassle out of moving home and relocating for Navien and Anuradha...

It was a career opportunity that triggered Navien Sass and Anuradha Bansal’s house move to Watership Place, a Bewley Homes’ Garden Village Collection located in the picturesque market town of Whitchurch, Hampshire.

The couple were living in Biddenham, a small Bedfordshire village, when genomics research scientist Anu was offered an exciting new job in Southampton last summer.

Navien, who works in London as a senior IoT engineering manager, said: “After a lot of searching, Watership Place was the ideal location for our budget and to get to work.

“We found out about the ‘Bewley Bond’ which offered a range of incentives to prospective buyers. This made our move possible because we could reserve our dream home and have 12 weeks to sell our old house.”

Explaining more of the detail of the Bewley Bond, Navien said: “Bewley also paid our agent fees and contributed to legal fees. There were other incentives like flooring and turfed lawn included which meant savings all around. The pressure was off us – Bewley Homes basically took charge of the sale of our property including getting agent valuations and marketing and they kept us informed of any potential offers and managed the entire sales process. This gave us huge peace of mind because we had a secured reservation until our house sold.”

Navien and AnuAnu said: “Another big driver was that the new house was ready in March, which meant I wouldn’t need to rent in Southampton for as long while Navien stayed in Bedfordshire. It was especially important to us as we had to move quickly because of my job. At the time, there were very few properties on the market in our desired location.”

Anu commented: “Without the Bewley Bond, we would have certainly missed out on our perfect house, I would have had to rent for much longer in Southampton because we would have had to wait until our house had sold before being able to reserve our home at Watership Place. With the Bewley Bond, both the purchase and sale went through simultaneously. We could also choose certain design options to suit our tastes like flooring, carpets and even a few extra sockets.”

The couple were also keen to purchase a new build property, as Anu explained: “We always preferred a new build because everything is immaculately finished and we didn’t want the hassle of DIY or renovation work.”

“We loved having a spacious layout with four good sized bedrooms, a separate utility room and a modern spacious kitchen/diner with a separate living room,” Navien added. “We love the bay window in our living room giving us fantastic views of the meadows and trees. Having an attached garage provides even more storage options, which is really useful.”

The couple are finding time to explore their new surroundings: “Whitchurch has a very vibrant small town feel with plenty of local shops. The area is steeped in natural beauty with lots of trees and river streams. It is well connected to bigger towns and cities as well for all our needs. It is a very charming part of the world.”

Prices at Watership Place start from £399,950 for a three-bedroom house. Find out more at www.bewley.co.uk
