School Priority Leads To Purchase In Tunbridge Wells

Posted 28 March 2022 by Keith Osborne

An 'Outstanding' primary school on site attracted the Chadha family to a new home at Hollyfields in Tunbridge Wells...

After three years of renting in Horsham, Karan and Isha Chadha decided it was time to buy their own house, not least because their son was due to start school.

Determined to give their child the best start in life, they started exploring a range of areas with good schools within commuting distance of London, including Kent, home to some of the best educational establishments in the country. Within a month of initiating their search, they found the right place to settle down for the long-term: Berkeley’s Hollyfields development in Tunbridge Wells, complete with a brand new ‘Outstanding’-rated school on site.

“It’s amazing that the school is less than a five-minute walk from our house, and we’ve already met several parents whose children attend. What really surprised us was how international the community here is – we’re from India and our neighbours come from all over the world. It’s nice to know that our child will be growing up surrounded by different cultures. Normally, this is something you can only experience in big cities, like London.”

The couple were set on buying a new build home for the ease of maintenance. Having had recommendations from several friends about the quality of Berkeley’s build and its attentive customer service, the couple discovered Hollyfields.

“My office is London, whereas Isha can work from both Leatherhead or London, which meant having fast and reliable transport links was a key priority”, said Karan. “It takes 45 minutes to get to London from Tunbridge Wells, so commuting to the office won’t be a problem for either of us.”

Prices at Hollyfields start at £355,000. Find out more from Berkeley Homes.
