Nurse Chooses Childhood Dorset Location For Own ‘Safe Haven’

39-year-old children’s nurse Kelly has purchased a brand new home in the Dorset area she loved as a child...

Used to looking after young patients in her working life, a 39-year-old children’s nurse will now have her own ‘safe haven’ to return to every day, after purchasing a brand new home in the Dorset area she loved as a child.

Kelly was set on buying a property in the coastal county, after moving to the region at the age of 12, and on viewing Barratt Homes’ Quarter Jack Park development in Wimborne, she knew it was the perfect place for her to set up home.

Set in the traditional town, close to the coast, and with excellent road links to Bournemouth, Poole, and Southampton, it was just what Kelly was looking for. She said: “I’ve loved this area of Dorset since I was a child, and, wanting to start a new chapter of my life, close to family and friends and with easy access to my work in Southampton, Quarter Jack Park was ideal.”

And, as Kelly will be living on her own, often arriving home late from her shifts as a nurse, it was important that the Barratt development also gave her the safety reassurance she needed.

Kelly added: “Feeling secure in my home is a priority for me, and, with its community feel, Quarter Jack Park gave me an impression of safety instantly. I’m certain I’ll feel completely comfortable when I move in early next year, and I’m excited – it’ll be my very own little haven.”

The homeowner is now looking forward to starting her new life at the leading housebuilder’s development in 2023, and, thanks to Barratt, she even got the chance to lay one of the first bricks of her new home, turning her hand to a spot of ‘bricklaying’. She said: “When Barratt asked if I wanted to play a part in the build of my home and lay one of the first bricks, I jumped at the chance – I brought some of my good friends along, and it was an experience I won’t forget.”

She added: “Having been used to detached properties in the past, I’m thrilled I could find one here. The ‘Moresby’ is very spacious and includes some excellent storage space. And with a plot that overlooks the park area, I couldn’t be happier.”

Barratt’s three-bedroom ‘Moresby’ home comes with a bright and airy lounge and a modern kitchen with dining space and French doors to the garden. There's also a cloakroom downstairs and a handy storage space in the hallway. Upstairs, there’s a main bedroom with en suite, one further double bedroom, one single and a family bathroom. The home also comes with two parking spaces.

Tammy Bishop, Barratt Homes sales director, Southampton division, is delighted that the Barratt development will become a brand-new home for Kelly.

She said: “With its acres of open space and community feel in the popular Dorset location, Quarter Jack Park is a wonderful place to call home. I can see why Kelly has made the decision to move here.

“It was great to welcome her on site to lay some first bricks in her new home’s build, and I wish her all the best for her new homeowning chapter.”

Barratt Homes Quarter Jack Park is collection of two, three and four bedroom homes in the traditional town of Wimborne. There are excellent links to Bournemouth, Poole and Southampton, and there are a selection of local schools, shops and pubs and restaurants nearby. The New Forest National Park is also just a 20-minute drive away.
