Agency Assist Helps Audrey Sell Home in Three Days

Posted 24 December 2019 by Helen Christie

Looking to downsize, Audrey found out about Jones Homes’ Agency Assist scheme...

The thought of moving home can be a daunting experience. The packing alone is one thing, but for many, the part of the process that causes the most stress is selling their existing property.

With the average time that homes spend on the market sitting at around 66 days in the North West, it’s no wonder that many people hesitate before putting their home on the market.

Audrey Williams was one of those people. Looking to downsize, Audrey had been searching for a new home for around a year. However, the thought of her current property spending months on the market put her off the idea of selling.

That was until Audrey, with the help of her daughter Stephanie Carolin, found out about Jones Homes’ Agency Assist scheme while visiting its Ribbleswood Chase development in Preston. Under the initiative, the housebuilder helps customers to sell their existing property while holding their new home for up to eight weeks.

Stephanie, who played a large role in her mother’s move, says: “We had been looking around a few different developments in the area before we chose Jones Homes. One of mum’s biggest reservations was the thought of her home sitting on the market for months, so when the sales advisors told us about the Agency Assist scheme, we decided to give it a go.

“We said to ourselves that if the home hadn’t been sold in the eight weeks that Jones Homes were holding the bungalow, we would leave the whole thing, but we put the house up for sale on the Wednesday, and by the Saturday it was sold.”

Under the Agency Assist scheme, Jones Homes will appoint three independent estate agents to value the customer’s home and provide a realistic selling price. The housebuilder will then liaise with the estate agents, help organise viewings and will even pay up to £3,000 towards the customer’s estate agency fees.

Stephanie says: “We had been looking at a few different developments in the area, but the location, the size of the bungalow and the high specification of the home stood out. It just seemed the perfect home for mum. Mum and dad had purchased quite a few new build homes throughout their life so we could see the quality straight away. I keep comparing it to a luxury apartment or a beautiful cottage. The property is light and airy inside, but it’s also extremely cosy. In a lot of new build developments, it can often feel like the houses are on top of one another but there is plenty of space here.”

Audrey has moved into the Elm, a spacious, two-bedroom bungalow at Ribbleswood Chase, off Hoyles Lane in Cottam.

Jones Homes is building a variety of two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom homes, from semi-detached bungalows to detached five-bedroom houses.
