Video preview – a new retirement village for Cheshire takes shape

Posted 2 March 2016 by Keith Osborne

Take a look at a short video about the start of construction on some new luxury retirement apartments coming this year to a popular Cheshire village...

Retirement villages are a growing sector in the UK new homes industry, meeting the demand for purpose-built, high-quality homes for older homeowners, and there’s a new one being built in Tattenhall, Cheshire right now, expecting its first residents later this year.

Progress in well under way at Inspired Tattenhall, where the initial phase of 48 one- and two-bedroom apartments scheduled for completion this autumn. In all, the village will have 151 properties, together with a range of appealing amenities for residents including a wellness spa and pool, gym, shop, restaurant, a bowling green and shared community space.

Jamie Bunce, managing director of Inspired Villages, says: “As people in Cheshire are living longer, healthier and more active lives, it’s great to offer a new village community that celebrates retirement as a time for new beginnings. Our retirement villages are very much about celebrating life and we’re proud to offer people an opportunity to experience aspirational and luxurious living with integrated care packages.”

Lord Mayor of Chester, Cllr Hugo Deynem, guest of honour at the ground breaking event in November 2015, said: “I think such developments are something that we very much need as our population ages, particularly in our more rural areas of West Cheshire such as Tattenhall. Purpose-built developments like these allow people to remain in their local areas as their lifestyle needs change.

“Retirement villages give local people the opportunity to continue living in the communities where many of them have lived for a long time. I’m pleased to have been involved in the ground breaking ceremony. Whilst there will be a vibrant community within the development, importantly, I am pleased to hear it will also have those vital inks with Tattenhall village itself which has so much to offer as one of our great rural Cheshire villages.”

There will be three types of accommodation to meet different lifestyle requirements, with apartment prices in phase one ranging from £259,000 to £558,000. There is a sale suite open at the site in Frog Lane.
