Generator Group has unveiled a stylishly captivating penthouse suite at its development, The Bridge, in Norwich. Ideally located right on the riverside and furnished with a splash of artwork.

The Bridge is idyllically located just a short walk from Norwich’s bustling city centre and offers picturesque views across the River Wensum. The building’s architecture was inspired by renowned artist, Piet Mondrian and includes 66 apartments and five penthouse apartments. While the development was named after the pedestrian Novi Sad Friendship Bridge, which crosses the River Wensum only a moment’s walk away.

The development combines the benefits of location: living close to such vibrant amenities including shops, restaurants and leisure facilities and all the joys of the UNESCO City of Literature, while also being within a five-minute walk to Norwich train station with direct trains to London.

The interior is strongly inspired by the homes’ surroundings; references to nearby galleries, museums and cathedrals can be seen through the bespoke artwork that is featured throughout and in the chic palette of purple and berry tones. The nature-inspired trend for greenery witnessed at the Paris and Milan interior design shows earlier this year also influenced the interior designer’s decision for green tones and physical plant references that bring the space to life.

Suna Interior Design was selected to create the interior design scheme for this project. Their brief was to focus on creating a home for contemporary-minded downsizers and affluent couples. “So, it was important that we, as designers, understood what would attract that target market. There is a strong movement towards diversifying in all design from fashion, music, product and interiors, just to name a few. In a chain driven culture, the desire to diversify and stand apart is apparent, particularly in interiors, and our own dwellings are no exception. People are looking to bring unique experiences home more than ever” says Prudence Forde, senior interior designer at Suna Interior Design. “So, we needed to ensure that we created a completely bespoke and distinctive design.”

Open-plan living area: Off the main hallway is a large open-plan living, dining room and kitchen with French doors opening out on to a spacious terrace offering stunning views over the tranquil River Wensum and the city’s skyline. Finished with a high-quality specification, luxury features include timber engineered flooring, fitted carpets and sleek designer kitchens and bathrooms. Integrated appliances and lighting perfectly balance crisp functionality with high-end design.

Dining room: The dining room leads off from the living room and is a more sophisticated area. The Ferm Living Lines wallpaper in mint with brass detailing creates a backdrop onto which the large, round mirror with a gold finish hangs and sets the tones for many entertaining dinner parties.

Kitchen: The kitchen includes soft-close cabinetry, accessorised with a range of colours that echo the palette in the living and dining areas.

Master bedroom: The master bedroom includes an en-suite, fitted carpets and double wardrobes. The space is ideal for young professionals or downsizers, elegant but stylish for modern living. Prudence says: “Personally, one of my favourite features of the penthouse is the interlocking headboard in the master bedroom, which is a piece of artwork as much as a functional headboard, and gives the room a distinctive identity.”
