Show home room by room - Liberty, Nottingham

Posted 4 January 2017 by Ben Salisbury

We take a look at The Lowesby, a new showhome from Bellway, unveiled at their Liberty development in Nottingham which features design inspiration from Asia

A successful showhome was unveiled just before Christmas which saw home-hunters head to Bellway’s latest Nottinghamshire development to view its two new family homes, the four-bedroom detached Lowesby and Belfry showhomes at Liberty, a development on Chalfont Drive in Nottingham offering 2, 3 and 4-bedroom properties.

Both family homes benefit from single garages and open-plan kitchen-dining areas, designed for modern lifestyles and entertaining guests.

Liberty is being built in the north-west of Nottingham near the beautiful surroundings of Wollaton Park, which includes a magnificent deer park and an onsite natural history museum.

Ben Smith, sales director for Bellway’s East Midlands division, said: “We were delighted to see so many people at our launch event, and the feedback we have received on both of the showhomes has been fantastic.

“The Lowesby and the Belfry are two of the most popular family homes we build and are reflective of the types of homes available at Liberty. Much of the interest we have received so far has been from families who are either looking to buy for the first time, or make the move to a larger property.

“The proximity of this development to the centre of Nottingham has certainly played a large part in many people’s decision to move here so far. The city centre can be reached in less than ten minutes by car, which is a big attraction for professionals and those looking to enjoy its retail facilities."

The showhomes at the development, designed by Niamh Connor from Claude Hooper Interiors, feature a rich and vibrant colour palette with influences from Asia and the Far East.

Decked out in white, soft grey and striking pink, the four-bedroom Lowesby showhome is designed with young families and professionals in mind, with flashes of gold and silver adding touches of luxury throughout.

Niamh Connor, from Claude Hooper Interiors, said: “We were asked to create an exotic and vibrant showhome scheme, so chose fuchsia pink as the accent colour throughout and softer colours to make the home welcoming and warm."

Lounge: “Birds feature heavily in the lounge of the Lowesby, with a recurring hummingbird motif on the beautifully patterned wallpaper and a gilt cage as a focal point. Luxurious fabrics are key to this look, with a sumptuous velvet sofa providing the perfect welcoming place to sit and a soft rug acting as the ideal place for children to play. A large mirrored cabinet not only bounces light around the room creating a light and airy feel, it also acts as a practical storage space too.”

Dining room: “Fuchsia pink furnishings in every room gives the whole house a sense of flow and connection, and the dining room is no exception. Sumptuous velvet chairs are inviting to sit on and the glass table is both stylish and practical. Gold accessories such as the huge vase in the centre of the table, the Moroccan-inspired candleholder in the corner and the leaf-detailed mirror frame are interesting to look at and keep the look sumptuous and elegant.”

Master bedroom: “Without a doubt, the focal point of the main bedroom is the vibrant feature wallpaper behind the bed which stands out particularly well as the rest of the walls have been kept light and simple. The glass chandelier adds an extra touch of glamour, while the soft furnishings on the bed have been kept relatively simple, while still retaining a welcoming feel. Muted accessories like the three circular mirrors above the bed and the large silver and white bedside lamps allow the dramatic wallpaper to shine, as do the plain curtains and pretty but understated bedside tables."

Bathroom: “Bathrooms are often an underrated space, but our experience is that keeping the look and feel simple with one or two accent colours will create a room that anyone can enjoy relaxing in. The family bathroom at our Lowesby showhome at Liberty is no exception. Again, we’ve used the fuchsia pink and soft gold as we have throughout the rest of the house, so that the room feels like a natural extension of the overall scheme. Paired with crisp white, the bathroom looks clean and modern.”
