Scotland New Homes Round-up

Posted 9 March 2020

Our latest round-up of new build homes for sale in developments situated across Scotland, covering a range of budgets and property types...

The Scottish Government's First Home Fund – a new pilot scheme which aims to help thousands of first-time buyers with the deposit for a new home – opened for applications in December.

It’s a shared equity scheme which will offer all first time buyers in Scotland an interest-free loan of up to £25,000 to help them buy a property that meets their needs – in an area of Scotland in which they want to live.

Buyers will need to fund at least 5% of the value of their new house themselves. There are no monthly payments on the loan, which is secured on the equity of the home; it can be repayed in full at any time, and must be repaid if the property is sold. There's also no price cap on the property that can be bought, and buyers will own their new home outright.

We’ve selected some new developments across Scotland that cater well for a range of budgets and life stages – from smaller starter homes right through to large executive properties.

Westburn Gardens in Cornhill, Aberdeen (Barratt Homes)

With 90% of homes here already sold, Westburn Gardens is proving popular with buyers in the Aberdeen area.

It includes a choice of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments and three-bedroom homes, all just a short walk from Rosemount and its many shops, parks and other facilities. Victoria Park is a wonderful green space enjoyed by local residents, and busy Rosemount Place is lined with lots of small shops, many of them traditional, independent stores such as butchers, fishmongers, cheese shops, bakers and boutique shops. There are primary schools and academies nearby, as well as restaurants, a cinema, a Costa cafe, a Next, and a Sainsbury's supermarket.

Aberdeen city centre is also close by – around 15 minutes on foot – and also easily accessible by public transport.

Prices: From £159,995 to £329,995.
