The WhatHouse? team gives you the very latest on launches, events and special offers for new homes across the country...

With many new homes developments open five, or even seven days a week, the weekend is still the most popular time for house-hunters to go and see them in person. Here are the latest launches, events and offers from across the country…

Part Exchange weekend at Brackley development

Taylor Wimpey is inviting homeowners looking to swap their current property for a new build to attend a Part Exchange weekend at its Chestnut Grove development in Brackley, Northamptonshire.

With the marketing suite open from 10.00am to 5.00pm both days, potential purchasers can come along on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 February to find out how they can get the new home they really want without the hassle of selling their current home on the open market. With Part Exchange, Taylor Wimpey will act as cash buyer for a home, meaning buyers get the one they want and can move in when it is ready – and avoid the costs of an estate agent.

Gareth Jacob, managing director for Taylor Wimpey South Midlands, says: “Our Part Exchange scheme will help to eliminate the stress and complications of putting your property on the market. As we will act as your buyer, there are no estate agents fees to pay and no housing chains to worry about. Many prospective purchasers may not be fully aware of how our Part Exchange scheme could be of benefit to them, so our event is the perfect opportunity to have all of their questions answered by our experienced team – and to find out more about the homes available at Chestnut Grove.”

Prices currently start at £225,000 at this development, which offers a range of two-, three-, four-, and five-bedroom homes to suit many budgets and requirements.

London Home Show approaches

Taking place on Saturday 3 March, the tenth London Home Show is expected to attract 4,000 visitors to see the wealth of choice they have in purchasing their first home in the capital, with almost 50 new homes providers presenting their portfolios.

Supported by the Mayor of London, the event takes place at the Queen Elizabeth II Centre in Westminster and is free-of-charge to attend. Many of the range of affordable homes developments that visitors will be able to learn about will be available through the government-backed Shared Ownership and Help to Buy schemes.

Nick Lieb, head of operations for hosts Share to Buy, says: “As house prices continue to skyrocket, more and more Londoners are feeling pushed out of the property market. However, affordable homeownership schemes, such as Shared Ownership and Help to Buy, offer an alternative route onto the property ladder. We understand that for those who are starting out on their home buying journey, these alternative schemes can seem confusing but, with industry experts and the biggest names in first time buyer developments all under one roof, our exhibition is a truly fantastic opportunity for buyers to have their questions answered. We are delighted to be hosting our tenth London Home Show, which is set to be the biggest show to date."

Among the exhibitors are L&Q, Clarion, Notting Hill, Crest Nicholson, Southern Home Ownership and Barratt London, and each will have a team in attendance who can answer a range of questions about their homes. There will also be live Q&A sessions, where visitors can ask questions to experts on a range of topics.
