The latest news on launches, events and special offers open to buyers on new homes for sale at developments around the country...

Now is the right time to start planning the purchaser of a new home next year, and it really is possible for some people to buy now and move in by this Christmas. Here are some of the latest events, offers and launches on the UK’s new build homes.

Help to Buy phase launched at Camberwell development

Colliers International is working with developer Hyde New Homes to launch this Saturday 4 November the first phase of its growing WING development in Camberwell, Southwark, that allows purchasers to use the Help to Buy London scheme.

There are 18 units available on the government-backed finance deal that requires buyers to provide a 5% deposit and provides them with a 40% equity loan, meaning they only have to find a mortgage for 55% of the full property price. One-bedroom homes on this Peacock section of the 164-unit development start at £425,000 and two-bedroom homes from £525,000.

As a further bonus to buyers, Hyde New Homes will give £1,000 towards the buyer's legal fees. It will also offer all purchasers a two-year off-plan payment option and for buy-to-let investors at the development, it will be the additional 3% stamp duty demanded by the government.

This Help to Buy event takes place at Oval Cricket Ground in Kennington from 10.00am to 2.00pm this Saturday.

Golden Share scheme encouraged by Barratt/David Wilson in Edinburgh

Kilns GaitBarratt Homes and David Wilson Homes are urging qualifying property buyers to use the Golden Share scheme in their purchase as a way of significantly reducing their financial requirements.

This scheme offers a choice of properties at a reduced rate, providing a 20% discount on the market value of the home. This price cap is then passed on to future buyers when the property is sold. It is currently available at Kilns Gait in the south Edinburgh, a Barratt Homes development where prices start at £176,000, and at The View in Liberton, where David Wilson Homes properties start at £204,800.

Anne Ross, sales director for Barratt Homes East Scotland, says: “Our Golden Share properties offer real value for those who are looking to purchase their first family home in Edinburgh. The properties themselves are some of our most popular house types and with a limited number available, house hunters should get in touch to find out more.”

Marketing suite opens at north-east London development

People looking for a property in the north-east London Borough of Waltham Forest have a new option from Saturday 4 November, when Fairview New Homes opens its marketing suite at Endeavour, its collection of new build apartments.

“Highams Park is a location which has previously fallen under the radar of home buyers in the capital, but is now becoming increasingly popular with commuters looking for a village lifestyle within easy reach of central London,” says Jeremy Gee, main board director for Fairview. “Endeavour will provide a range of stylish open-plan apartments for those looking to relocate to this up-and-coming neighbourhood, and we look forward to welcoming visitors to our marketing suite from 4 November.”

Off-plan sales to start at Cheshire scheme from mid-November

The HawthornsElan Homes is putting properties up for off-plan sales later this month at The Hawthorns, an exclusive collection of just eight four- and five-bedroom homes in the Cheshire village of Lach Dennis, a few miles east of Northwich.

Buying off-plan gives purchasers the advantage of being able to personalise their new property from a range of specification options including kitchen units and worktops, kitchen and utility floor tiles, and wall tiling and vanity units in the bathroom and en suite facilities.

Marie Morris, sales director for Elan Homes in the North, says: “As a Cheshire-based business we have a solid understanding for the local housing market and pride ourselves in building high quality homes in some of the area’s most desirable neighbourhood.

“Lach Dennis is a prime example of this as the detached properties we’re building are in keeping with the surrounding area, with some boasting stunning views of neighbouring fields and open countryside. It’s very much somewhere people aspire to live and in response to demand we’re releasing some of the designs off-plan with show homes to follow in the first part of the New Year.”

Permission granted for 391 new homes in Beckton

Property-hunters in east London will be pleased to hear the Bellway Homes has secured planning permission for a scheme of 391 new homes in a new urban village in Beckton, in the London Borough of Newham.

The development will convert a derelict industrial estate with a choice of new studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments and duplexes – 28% of which will be sold under the ‘affordable’ banner – which will also have over 6,000 sq ft of commercial space nearby.

Ian Gorst, managing director of Bellway Homes’ Thames Gateway division, says: “Beckton is an area of east London that, despite its proximity to Canary Wharf and the City, is underdeveloped. Bellway is delighted to be contributing to the areas transformation especially because the former industrial site has been run down for many years.

“We will be providing new homes in a key location for the capital’s workforce, to take advantage of the area’s excellent amenities. In unlocking its development potential, the regeneration of this site will make a significant contribution to supporting London’s growing housing requirement and provide a new business hub for professionals and a vibrant community for families.”
