Posted 23 August 2018 by Keith Osborne

The WhatHouse? team takes you through some of the latest launches, events and special offers in the UK new homes market this week...

With so many other people away on holiday, summer is the perfect time for serious house-hunters to make the most of a quieter market and see if they can find the property they want at the price they want through the latest launches, events and special offers.

Release of new apartments in Norfolk

Charles Church Homes has launched a new range of apartments at a scheme in Wymondham, Norfolk, which are likely to appeal to first-time buyers and investors in particular.

The Oakwood Common development includes a range of two-bedroom apartments, each offering open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining rooms and some also boasting en suites. This collection of homes currently starts at £154,995. A range of three- and four-bedroom houses perfect for families are also on sale there.

Michelle Baker, sales director for Charles Church Anglia, says: “No matter what shape the economy is in, people will always be drawn towards bricks and mortar – whether that is getting the keys to their own home, or investing for the future. We have seen a healthy interest in the newly-released apartments at Oakwood Park, with both first-time buyers and buy-to-let landlords looking to reserve plots. For first-time buyers there has never been a better time to purchase, as they can access the government-backed Help to Buy scheme, meaning they only need a five per cent deposit to secure their ideal home. Anyone with an existing property to sell can ask us about our Home Change and Part Exchange arrangements, potentially saving time and money.”

Wymondham is just a few miles west of Norwich and has its own station on the Norwich to Cambridge line, making it perfect for anyone working in one of these cities. The A11 and A140 are also in easy reach, providing convenient routes across East Anglia.

Five-bedroom show house opens in Wokingham

CALA Homes is inviting anyone interested in buying a new family home in Berkshire to visit its Orchard Grange development in Wokingham this Saturday 25 August, when it opens a brand new five-bedroom show home.

The boutique development is in its second phase and the detached ‘Turnland’ house demonstrates the design, layout and specification that purchasers can expect there. It has open-plan kitchen/family room, utility room, sitting room, dining room, study, two en suite bedrooms, master bedroom with dressing room and Juliet balcony, family bathroom and a double garage.

“An exclusive, intimate collection of homes, Orchard Grange provides the perfect balance for commuters and families looking for contemporary, high quality living and scenic countryside views,” says Katie Hunter, sales manager at CALA Homes (Thames). “Situated in the popular historic market town of Wokingham, the new homes follow the highly successful first phase of the development in 2016 and we expect these homes to be just as popular with prospective buyers looking to purchase a property which benefits from exceptional local amenities, outstanding commuter links and highly regarded local schooling.

Two properties at Orchard Grange have already been reserved. Prices for the remaining homes start at £975,000, and buyers can take advantage of a 100% Part Exchange initiative to smoothly move from their current property to a brand new one, eliminating the ‘property chain’, which can often bring stress and uncertainty to a house move.

Development opens in Yate, Gloucestershire

AmberleyNewland Homes has just opened a brand new development in Yate, just to the west of Chipping Sodbury in Gloucestershire, which will be bring 31 new homes to the edge of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Amberley is located off Broad Lane, neighbouring the Churchill Gardens site previously built by Newland Homes, and offers buyers a choice of two-, three- and four-bedroom homes.
