Strong sales at Edinburgh site ahead of official launch

Without a dedicated sales office or show home, The Crescent, on the 18-acre grounds of the former Donaldson’s College, set within the Edinburgh New Town UNESCO World Heritage Site, has already seen housebuilder CALA Homes achieve off-plan sales of £7.7m.

Construction is underway but this development of 84 luxury apartments will not be open to visitors for another six months. Even so, he company has secured eight reservations off-plan from an off-site sales office, located within a luxury city centre hotel. The first phase of 11 homes priced from £599,000 to £1.925m.

Phillip Hogg, sales and marketing director for CALA Homes (East), says: “This is unlike any other development in Scotland, showcasing the finest of modern and historic architecture the country has to offer in a way that is shaped around the quality of life within the homes. We’d urge those interested to book an appointment as soon as possible, as we’re experiencing extremely high demand and interest – despite being months away from an on-site launch. Now really is a great time to be buying a premium home in Edinburgh, as the city is becoming globally renowned as a property hotspot.”

With design sympathetic to the iconic grounds within which it is set, this development is also well placed for the city centre, with its wealth of shops, entertainment and historic sites. It is also being constructed to incorporate an underground car park, to ensure the visibility of cars on site is kept to a minimum once it is completed. Potential buyers may book an appointment at the temporary sales office within a suite at The Balmoral Hotel.
