News in Brief from The New Homes Scene, Week 2 2018

Posted 11 January 2018 by Keith Osborne

The WhatHouse? team takes a close look at the range of events, offers and launches in the new homes market this week...

January is a very busy month for the UK housebuilding industry as it gathers pace after the festive season. This is great news for serious house-hunters and here we look at some of the latest offers, events and launches on developments across Britain…

Launch for luxury new homes in Bromley

City & Country, a prestigious winner of the many WhatHouse? Awards, has launched its latest development, providing homebuyers with the first opportunity to consider the homes located in the grounds of Grade I listed Sundridge Park Mansion in the London Borough of Bromley.

There is currently a choice of four, built in the Regency-style former lodge, adjacent to the Grade I listed, Sir John Nash-designed mansion house. All residents will be able to use the estate gardens, designed by Humphry Repton. One-bedroom homes start at £399,950 and two-bedroom homes from £499,950.

Suzanne Aplin, sales and marketing director at City & Country, says: “These four outstanding new homes provide owners with views of the mansion house and access to the Repton-designed grounds. Designed in the same style as the mansion, they provide a luxurious standard of living in an exclusive setting, adjacent to Sundridge Park Golf Club.”

The homes are within easy reach of Elmstead Woods and Sundridge Park stations and the M25.

Help to Buy event at Liverpool development this weekend

Aigburth Grange Elan Homes is inviting house-hunters to its Aigburth Grange development this weekend to attend a special event on the government-backed Help to Buy scheme, which is taking place on Saturday 13 January.

Representatives from Plus Dane, the North West’s Help to Buy agent, will be able to assist with giving visitors full information about the scheme, while independent financial advisors can look at mortgages with a potential buyer. The Elan Homes team is on hand to take guests through what is available and their buyer options.

Marie Morris, sales director for Elan Homes in the North, says: “This event will help clear up some of the mysteries behind Help to Buy, including if homebuyers are eligible, which properties they can buy using the scheme, what deposit they will need to raise and how much interest they will pay. It’s a straightforward process made even more simple by a team of advisors who can be with buyers every step of the way, providing guidance.”

Homes at Aigburth Grange currently includes a three-bedroom ‘Glossop’ house priced from £239,995, which also includes carpets, turf to the rear garden and £1,000 towards legal fees.

Open day at Shared Ownership scheme in Tonbridge

Clarion Housing Group is hosting an open day on Saturday 13 January, between 10.00am and 4.00pm, for first-time buyers looking for a Shared Ownership property at Enterprise House, its brand new development in Tonbridge, Kent.

Located on Avebury Avenue, the development offers 37 apartments on the government-backed Shared Ownership, which allows new house-hunters on a limited budget to part-buy/part-rent a brand new home. At Enterprise House, prices start at £107,000 (50% of the full market price of £214,000) for a one-bedroom apartment and at £156,000 (50% of the full market value of £312,000) for a two-bedroom apartment.
