Luxury Riverside Living With Capital Views
The Dumont is the last of three buildings on this site from St James, part of the Berkeley group. Designed by David Walker Architects, the building is situated on the south bank of the Thames, and is due for completion this spring. Along with its two neighbouring buildings – the vibrantly-coloured Merano Residences, and the bold, curved Corniche – it is transforming this section of the river skyline and contributing to the South Bank’s exciting cultural landscape.
With a striking silhouette of contemporary buildings of different heights, The Dumont promises a sought-after combination of style, luxury and commuter convenience along with impressive views and superb on-site lifestyle facilities.
The apartments
The Alta Collection is the name of this last phase of the development, comprised of spacious, light-filled four-bedroom apartments with floor-to-ceiling widows. These allow natural light to flood into the apartments and maximise the panoramic views across the river towards key London landmarks such as the Houses of Parliament, the London Eye, Battersea Power Station and the City.
The elegant interiors have been created by British interior designers Spinocchia Freud, who have created light, stylish, airy spaces by using a chic, neutral colour scheme, clean lines, and open-plan designs.
Five-star facilities
While residents of The Dumont will benefit from a prime London location, with a choice of transport options virtually on their doorstep, they will also find plenty to keep them at home. Along with the luxuriousness of the apartments themselves, there are a whole host of five-star amenities to enjoy, shared with residents of the neighbouring Corniche building. These include a games room, a ten-pin bowling lane, and a private cinema in The Dumont’s basement.
An underground walkway leads from The Dumont to the Corniche building where all residents can enjoy use of a private gym, spa and infinity pool. These shared lifestyle facilities are designed to connect the community that makes up this new neighbourhood, helped by several public areas that can be used by both buildings’ residents – such as the Skyline club lounge on the 19th floor of the Corniche, and the 12th floor Observatory in The Dumont, which has a private residents’ lounge, dining area and stylish roof terrace.
The local area
The lively borough of Lambeth attracts young professionals in their droves thanks to its superb transport links and sophisticated social scene. The Albert Embankment is a popular spot for strolls along the Thames, and the area is home to exciting attractions such as the Tate Britain and the Imperial War Museum. Some of London's best universities are found nearby, too, and there's a cosmopolitan mix of restaurants, pubs and cocktail bars in both Vauxhall and Lambeth. For commuters, the nearest London Underground station is Vauxhall, which is a seven minute walk away (0.3 miles) from The Dumont, while other stations nearby include Westminster (a mile away), Waterloo (1.1 miles) and Victoria (1.3 miles).
Prices from £1,555,000.
