Feature Development – Trinity Walk, Woolwich

Posted 2 November 2021 by Keith Osborne

Lovell Homes is seeing keen sales at landmark Trinity Walk in south-east London, with the final phase just launched…

WhatHouse? recently headed to south-east London to catch up with progress at Trinity Park, Lovell Homes’ major part in the regeneration of Woolwich.

In total, the development is bringing 445 new one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments to this historic part of London. All homes are generously sized and each has its own private balcony or terrace with plenty of room for furniture and decorative features.

Apartments are ready to move into and can be purchased using the government-backed Help to Buy scheme, which requires a 5% deposit and 55% mortgage, the balance being provided as an equity loan which is interest free for the first five years.

Location has been a big attraction for buyers here. Woolwich Arsenal is in Zone 4 and only a six-minute walk away, offering regular services to London Bridge talking 21-25 minutes. Soon, Woolwich’s brand new station for Crossrail opens, only a mile from home at Trinity Walk and offering speeding services into central London and through to Reading and Heathrow Airport.

An example of a one-bedroom home for sale right now is here, set in Oscar Court, Gazella House. It boasts many of the features which are common to all homes here. At 549 sq ft, it is larger than many one-bedroom apartments in London and has a specification which includes flooring and kitchen appliances as standard. Off the hallway is some very useful storage including a utility cupboard which keeps a noisy washing machine out of the open-plan kitchen/dining/living room, of which is the private balcony. The bedroom is a spacious double, and there’s a contemporary bathroom as well. This home is priced from £380,000.

For buyers looking for a bit extra, a two-bedroom property in Cottesbrook Heights might be ideal. This has an impressive 919 sq ft of interior space and the luxury of a private terrace and two balconies. It has two double bedrooms (each with access to outside space), with one of them having an en suite shower room and an ideal nook which can discreetly accommodate a home office area – a must for many home workers nowadays. The dual-aspect, open-plan kitchen/dining/living room incorporates a breakfast bar and a door to the other balcony. This home is for sale at £495,000.

Apartment 305 is also in Cottesbrook Heights and this dual-aspect property is laid out over 935 sq ft. The hub of this home is the kitchen/living/dining room, a generous space with a glazed door to a balcony. Bedroom one has its own balcony as well as an en suite shower room. Bedroom two is another double and has a door to a ‘Jack-and-Jill’ bathroom, which is also accessed from the hallway. Bedroom three is a single room which could be used for many functions. This large property also qualifies for London Help to Buy, with a price tag of £535,000.

A visit to the show home is an ideal way of experiencing the space and seeing the quality of the specification. It is also a chance to see the furnishings from BoConcept, and learn more about the free package available to buyers and investors to provide a collection of furniture with a bespoke choice of things like size, colour, fabric and finishes. The show apartment and marketing suite and are open to view by appointment, in person or through livechat.

The Woolwich area, close to the River Thames in the north of the Royal Borough of Greenwich, is undergoing significant regeneration with the creation of hundreds of brand new homes and modern facilities bringing 21st-century features to an area with a great history. It is probably most famous for its maritime heritage since Tudor times and the role of Woolwich Arsenal in wartime.

Prices for one-, two and three-bedroom apartments at Trinity Walk start at £355,000, £470,000 and 535,000 respectively. Find out more from Lovell Homes.

Case study: Nicholas

Nicholas Wong was no stranger to living at Trinity Walk when he bought a 600-sq-ft one-bedroom apartment there. He had already been renting there when he decided to make the step up and get on the property ladder and was able to take advantage of Help to Buy when he bought his £375,000 apartment.

Nicholas loves his new place: “The open-plan feel really works well and there is plenty of natural light. The storage space in the apartment has been cleverly designed so there’s a place for everything and my home never looks cluttered. Lovell Homes has been really clever designing the flexible space in a one-bedroom apartment and these are as big for the money as anything on the market. During the period when everyday life was restricted, having a balcony with a leafy view overlooking green space, the River Thames and the London skyline really helped keep my spirits up.”

Nicholas WongLocation is also important to him: “For me, the fact that everything in Woolwich is so easily accessible, like supermarkets and shops, is so convenient. I can pop out for something and be back home in minutes, or visit a local café nearby or grab a takeaway – there’s a great choice of food, culture and amenities on my doorstep. It has a feeling of peace and quiet, but at the same time you are in a city setting; perhaps it’s the big green spaces and proximity to the river, that make it feel more open and less urban.

“For me, the wonderful view of the treetops from my flat on the 7th floor is a big part of the reason I chose to buy my first home and to continue enjoying living at Trinity Walk. I was a happy renter at this development, so it made perfect sense to make the move to become a homeowner.”
