Award-winning housing association L&Q has release 52 new one- and two-bedroom waterside apartments in Barking for Intermediate Market Rent (IMR).

Intermediate Market Rent is a subsided rental scheme typically offering up to a 20% reduction on market rent which gives potential first-time buyers an opportunity to save to buy an affordable home.

These new homes are part of Barking Riverside, a cutting-edge new development designed by RMA Architects and constructed by Bellway. This development is set in carefully preserved natural landscaped grounds stretching along two kilometres of River Thames frontage.

Inside, each of the L&Q apartments has been designed to a high specification, with bespoke gloss-finish kitchens featuring integrated appliances, tiled flooring, oak veneer wardrobes in the master bedrooms and bathrooms with thermostatic showers. All properties at L&Q @ Barking Riverside will have a balcony or terrace, video entry and a parking space.

The IMR scheme has certain eligibility criteria: applicants must already live or work in the northeast sub-region, which covers Waltham Forest, Barking & Dagenham, Havering, Redbridge, Newham, Tower Hamlets, City of London and Hackney; and the minimum income requirement starts from £28,729, with a maximum income of £66,000. A monthly service charge is included within the rental price. Prices for one-bedroom properties start at £808.00 per month, and two-bedroom homes from £956.00 per month

L&Q @ Barking Riverside is the housing association’s second IMR development within the Borough of Barking and Dagenham, having recently launched and let all the one-bedroom IMR apartments at Academy Central, situated on the former University of East London Campus.

All the apartments L&Q @ Barking Riverside are available to rent off-plan. Homes will be completed from January through to March 2015.
