Right now, the Help to Buy scheme is offered to first-time buyers on selected plots at developments across Yorkshire, where the regional price threshold is £228,100.

At Heather Croft in Pickering, there a number of homes currently qualifying for Help to Buy. For buyers looking for single-storey home, there are two of the ‘Burleigh’ type of semi-detached bungalow, priced at £204,000. This has one double bedroom, one single bedroom, a family bathroom and open-plan kitchen/dining/living room. Both have the bonus of a south-facing garden. As these homes are in early stages of construction, there’s a chance to personalise through options and upgrades.

In Hatfield, a few miles north-east of Doncaster, Avant Homes has several houses which can be prucased through Help to Buy. One example is Plot 8, a three-bedroom semi-detached house where buyers have a range of kitchen and bathroom options to select from. There’s a kitchen/dining room, lounge, two double bedrooms (one with en suite shower room) and a single bedroom. There’s parking for two vehicles at the front. This home is priced at £199,995.

For those looking for apartment living, Redrow’s ground floor ‘Adel Apartment’ at Thorpe Park, just east of Leeds, comes with [] a private terrace accessed off the open-plan kitchen/dining/living room. There are two bedrooms, one with en suite walk-in shower, a laundry cupboard and family bathroom. This property is priced at £209,950.

Barratt Homes currently has two plots available with Help to Buy at Harrier Chase in Brough, around 12 miles west of Hull. One is the ‘Palmerston’, a three-bedroom semi-detached three-bedroom house that has an upgraded kitchen with integrated appliances included (worth £3,250) and comes with parking for two cars, priced at £209,000; and the ‘Maidstone’, a three-bed with en suite to bedroom one and kitchen upgrades worth over £3,000.
