Home of the Day – Plot 9 at Poppy Lane, The Wilkinson Partnership

Posted 17 December 2020 by Keith Osborne

We are impressed by a five-bedroom house at Poppy Lane, on the market from The Wilkinson Partnership in Buckinghamshire…

The WhatHouse? team reports on our current favourite new build home for sale – today, it’s a lovely five-bedroom detached home at Poppy Lane, a Brickhill Homes development in Soulbury, Buckinghamshire which is being marketed by The Wilkinson Partnership.

Plot 9 is one example of the largest house type at this boutique development (there another on Plot 10). It’s a double-fronted home with an attached double garage. Through the front door and off to one side is a spacious, dual-aspect sitting room which has a feature fireplace and double doors to the rear garden. On the other side of the hallway is a study – something which is increasingly becoming a must for home workers. Past the cloakroom to the rear of the house, where there is a large, open-plan kitchen/dining/family room, fully fitted with Bosch appliances and bonuses such as a wine cooler. There’s plenty of worktop and storage here, including a feature island, but there’s more in the utility room, which has its own door to the turfed/patioed garden. There’s a large glazed doorway from the main room too.

Upstairs, the principal bedroom is at the rear of the house and comes with a walk-in closet which leads to an impressive en suite with separate bath and shower, and twin basins. Bedroom two is another double room with its own en suite shower room, as is bedroom three, which is above the garage and dormer window to the front of the house. Both other bedrooms are doubles, and off the landing is also the family bathroom and a handy little space that could accommodate a desk as a little workspace. Plot 9 of this house type is priced at £895,000, and Plot 10, £950,000.

Poppy Lane is an exclusive development of just 10 brand new homes, a mix of three-, four- and five-bedroom house types, with prices currently starting at £775,000. Soulbury is an archetypal village is a few miles north-west of Leighton Buzzard and also close to Bletchley and Milton Keynes. The A5 and M1 are both easily reached. Families will be delighted that this development is within the catchment area for the highly regarded Aylesbury Grammar Schools.
