The WhatHouse? team reports on our current favourite new home for sale right now – today, we pick the ‘Strathmore’ house type at Kings Chase, a David Wilson Homes development in the market town of Romsey, Hampshire.

This three-bedroom semi-detached house type is available to buy on Plot 192 and comes with upgraded kitchen and flooring worth £6,600 included in its price of £372,500. The cloakroom and stairs are off the hallway, as is the kitchen/breakfast room at the front of the house and the spacious living/dining room with French doors to the garden at the rear. Upstairs are two double bedrooms (en suite to the master), a single bedroom and the family bathroom. This home comes with two parking spaces.

Right now, there’s a range of three- and four-bedroom houses for sale at Kings Chase with prices from £372,500 to £685,000. Those up to £600,000 qualify for the government-backed Help to Buy shared equity scheme. The development is seven minutes from the station and will be home to excellent new sports facilities and pitches, while Romsey is close to Southampton, Winchester, Salisbury and Bournemouth and just minutes from the New Forest.
