The WhatHouse? team reports on our current favourite new build home for sale – today, it’s ‘The Kingfisher’, a luxury five-bedroom house type at Beaulieu Oaks, part of a najor development in the outskirts of the city of Chelmsford, Essex.

There are 115 homes on Phase 2 here, and Beaulieu Oaks is part of the major Beaulieu development which is creating a new district of Chelmsford eventually comprising some 3,600 new homes in addition to public open spaces, community amenities, shops, sports facilities and three new schools (two primary, one secondary). Here will also be a relief road to the A12 and a brand new railway station is due to open in 2026. Right now, Beaulieu Oaks has properties starting at £294,995 for a two-bedroom apartment.
Chelmsford is very well connected via road and rail and offers superb range of shopping and leisure options. It is also home to highly regarded grammar schools and Anglia Ruskin university.
