Home of the Day – The 'Dunbar’, Barratt Homes

Posted 3 March 2020 by Keith Osborne

The WhatHouse? team's current favourite new home for sale is the ‘Dunbar’ at Merlin Gardens in East Kilbride from Barratt Homes...

The WhatHouse? team reports on our current favourite new home for sale right now – today, we pick the four-bedroom ‘Dunbar’ house type at Merlin Gardens, a Barratt Homes development in East Kilbride, the new town around eight miles south east of Glasgow.

Plot 204 is one of two of this two-storey detached house type with integral garage currently available at this development. This one is priced £289,995. Off the hallway, at the front of the house, is a lounge, then its past the staircase with a handy storage cupboard underneath it to the open-plan kitchen/dining room, which has a glazed bay with French doors to the rear garden. Off this room is a utility room and the downstairs WC. At the top of the stairs, off the landing, are five rooms: the family bathroom and four double bedrooms. The master comes with an en suite shower room.

It’s one of several four-bedroom house types for sale at Merlin Gardens, where prices start at £250,995 and Part Exchange is one buyer incentive. This development is only 20 minutes from Glasgow's city centre, but East Kilbride itself has its own range of shops, amenities, leisure facilities and eateries much closer to home. For transport, there’s a station with services to Glasgow Central, numerous bus services and road connection in the Queensway and East Kilbride Expressway, with M74 and M77 both under 15 minutes away.

The ‘Dunbar’ is also available at other Barratt Homes developments:

Harwood Park in West Calder, West Lothian, where Plot 84 is priced £284,995.

Braes of Yetts in Kirkintilloch, East Dunbartonshire, where Plot 90 is priced £310,995.

St Clements Wells in Wallyford, East Lothian, where Plot 152 is priced £304,995.
