Solihull is a town to the south-east of Birmingham but also the name of one of the city’s Metropolitan Boroughs, an area that has a very active new build homes market, being a place to live that ticks many boxes for so many property-seekers.
There are number of individual towns and villages of different character that form part of the borough: a mix of urban places on the west side and rural areas towards its border with Warwickshire in other directions. Shirley is a popular area in the west of Solihull, on the urban edge of Birmingham and connected to the city by railway and its main road (Stratford Road), which is also its main shopping area, offering many high-street brands and independent shops and services. Solihull town centre is around 15 minutes away, and it’s a 40-minute drive into Birmingham. Solihull Town
Solihull was a modest market town until the start of the 20th century, when areas of land were released in order to build many more homes. It currently has a population of around 125,000.
