Posted 5 November 2021 by Helen Christie

Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes have an impressive selection of developments in the South East, ideal for homeowners wanting more outdoor space…

More and more buyers are looking for homes with large gardens and near green spaces.

Housebuilders are seeing a surge in demand for homes that offer more space, which includes public parks for children to play, take dogs for walks and exercise. Barratt Homes, Barratt London and David Wilson Homes have some great developments in the South East that offer residents plenty of open spaces and play areas...

Kingsbrook in Aylesbury

Multi award-winning Kingsbook is a wildlife-friendly development from Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes. Kingsbrook is a new development consisting of three villages, Orchard Green, Canal Quarter and Oakfield Village, and offers a selection of two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom homes, and is located in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire.

60% of the development is allocated to open space, with acres of beautiful green spaces including cycleways and nature trails, three parks, orchards and allotments. There are also several play areas for children, as well as plans for a nature reserve, sports pitches and tennis courts.

The homes are designed for contemporary living, with spacious open plan living and dining areas which open onto the garden. Each home offers a modern kitchen including an energy-efficient oven, hob & hood, as well as built-in storage and a WC on the ground floor. Main bedrooms also benefit from an en suite.

Aylesbury town centre is less than ten minutes away by bus or just a twenty minute cycle, and offers a variety of shops, cafes and restaurants as well as parks. Plenty of leisure activities are available with Aylesbury Waterside Theatre nearby, and Whipsnade Zoo and Wendover Woods within easy reach. Ideal for families, there are three grammar schools in the area and an Ofsted rated Outstanding primary school within walking distance.

For commuters, the Kingsbrook Flyer shuttle bus runs services every 30 minutes to Aylesbury station, which offers services to London in just over an hour.

Barratt Homes at Linmere in Houghton Regis

The recently launched Linmere development is set on the outskirts of Houghton Regis. The development will offer a new community set amongst tree lined neighbourhoods. Ideal for commuters, Linmere is a short cycle via the Route 6 Cycleway to Leagrave Train Station, or a short drive to Luton Airport Parkway Train Station, both of which connect residents to central London in less than an hour. Excellent road links are available with the development adjacent to the M1 providing quick access north to Milton Keynes and south to London within an hour.

Prices at Linmere start from £125,000 and Help to Buy is available.

Also on the site will be a Lidl supermarket with in-store bakery, a proposed café and a variety of shops, creating an ideal community with all amenities on the development’s doorstep.

Barratt London is building 479 new homes, 39 of which will be affordable. The new homes will include one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments and three- and four-bedroom houses.
