Appealing surroundings for Countryside’s latest Essex development

Posted 5 December 2016 by Keith Osborne

There's a great choice of new homes close to a wealth of local amenities at this recently released development in the major Essex town of Colchester...

The ‘best of both worlds’ is a common wish for many commuter house-hunters – great connectivity to work, but life based in somewhere with great amenities and places to enjoy leisure time are right on the doorstep.

It’s a combination that visitors to Countryside’s new development in the north-west of Colchester, Chesterwell, will find, along with a great choice of two-, three- and four-bedroom homes and the offer of the Help to Buy scheme to secure a purchase with a deposit of just 5%. Prices currently start at £229,995 for a house and just £199,995 for an apartment.

Generally considered the oldest town in England, Colchester is steeped in history, particularly from Roman times, and these days has a wealth of shops and leisure facilities as well as superb schools and a major station on the London-East Anglia network. It also has numerous parks, a professional football club and a university, giving it appeal to a very wide range of homebuyers.

It’s also close to the coast and traditional resorts such as Clacton, Frinton and Walton, as well as Dedham Vale, a gorgeous stretch of countryside made famous by painter John Constable and now designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Chris Bladon, managing director of Countryside’s new homes and communities eastern region, says: “Amenity rich rural locations are clearly in high demand at the moment, so we’re thrilled to offer homebuyers a fantastic choice of new homes at Chesterwell. The area offers a brilliant range of amenities, whilst still maintaining character and charm and the development itself will boast a wide range of facilities right on the doorstep.”

A show home is open at Chesterwell to give visitors a first-hand look at design and building standards, together with some inspiration on how to decorate their new home thanks to the expertise of its professional interior designers. The ‘Rosefinch’ is a four-bedroom family home with a spacious open-plan kitchen and dining area, complete with fitted kitchen and integrated appliances, and French doors opening out onto the rear garden. Upstairs are a family bathroom, two en suite bedrooms, another double bedroom and a smaller fourth bedoom that could be used as a study. The home also has a garage.

Chesterwell is just two miles from Colchester’s mainline railway station, which offers frequent direct services into London Liverpool Street taking under an hour, as well as services to Ipswich and Norwich. The development also offers good access to the A12, the arterial route linking East Anglia’s major towns and cities to the capital.
