9 of the best villages near Camberley, Surrey

Camberley is a beautiful market town in Surrey. With a wide range of shops and good transport links to London and Gatwick airport, the town is very attractive to commuters. There is a wide range of property available, and the town centre offers independent shops, restaurants, a cinema, bowling alley, museums and a theatre.

Frimley and Frimley Green
Frimley and Frimley Green are two villages a couple of miles south of Camberley on the Hampshire border. The villages share a mainline railway station at Frimley and boast an idyllic setting. Frimley has a Waitrose supermarket and a number of independent shops, a post office and two pubs.

Mytchett
Mytchett is a suburban village near Camberley, 35 miles from London and a mile from Ash Vale rail station. Here there is a church, excellent primary and nursery schools and a busy community centre and cricket club. The Potter's Inn provides good food and drink beside the Basingstoke and Deane Canal.

Ash Vale
Ash Vale, boasting half-hourly rail services to London that take around 40 minutes, is a particularly popular village for commuters. Six miles from Camberley, the village has a primary school, a small parade of shops, three pubs, a recreation ground and a number of parks and fisheries along its waterways.

Lightwater
Lightwater is a pretty village four miles east of Camberley. Close to the M3, the village benefits from the Lightwater Country Park, leisure and visitor centre, and thriving rugby, tennis and badminton clubs. The village boasts a church, pre-school and primary school and a small number of shops.

Windlesham
Nearby Windlesham is a pretty village set in wooded countryside close to the delightful Windle Brook. Its arboretum and famous prep-school sit alongside a thriving community which boasts a church, golf club, theatre and six public houses.

West End
The green belt village of West End lies four miles west of Camberley. The village centre offers a small selection of shops and services and the annual fete and Horticultural Show add to the life of the village. A number of heaths and commons are designated Sites of Special Scientific Interest and attract walkers and visitors to the area, as does The Inn gastropub.

Blackwater
Blackwater sits on the Berkshire and Surrey border, three miles west of Camberley in the Blackwater Valley. Served by mainline trains that run direct to London, the village has a large commuter population and is in easy reach of Camberley, Farnborough and Aldershot. The village is situated on the main A30 road and boasts a long parade of shops and a supermarket.

Hawley
Hawley is a small village adjacent to Blackwater. It has all of the usual village amenities, including a church, village hall, cricket ground, primary school and private leisure centre. Forest walks lead to nearby Hawley Lake, which is used for water sports, swimming and fishing.

Frogmore
Frogmore is a small village located between Yateley and Blackwater. Residents benefit from a busy village hall, medical surgery and primary school alongside a church, small shopping area and The Bell Inn public house. Frogmore Community College also contains a sports and leisure complex.
