Top 10 reasons to buy at… Willowbrook in Cranleigh

Posted 17 September 2019 by Keith Osborne

10 top reasons why house-hunters should consider purchasing a home at Willowbrook from housebuilder Latimer...

The WhatHouse? team recently visited the Willowbrook development in Cranleigh, Surrey to ask what our host Megan Davis, Latimer’s sale manager, believes are the ten best reasons to buy a new home from them there.

Reason 1: The scheme has been designed to offer a mix of seclusion and community.

A tour of the site, which is tucked away behind trees from Elmbridge Road, gives us an opportunity to see the variety of house types on sale and get a feel of what the completed development will look like. Megan comments: “It’s a smaller development of only 54 units allowing for a boutique feel and more open spaces, to retain its rural village appeal.”

Reason 2: All high-grade fittings and finishes come as standard.

“There are no hidden charges for upgrades. What you see in the show home is what you get,” Megan explains. This includes a full range of kitchen appliances, flooring/carpets throughout, as well as built-in wardrobes for master bedrooms.

Reason 3: All homes have been designed with generous private gardens and parking.

There are nine house types offered and each has its own garden, where the lawn, patio and fences are included in the asking price – often an ‘extra’ with some housebuilders. All homes have private, off-street parking.

Reason 4: It’s not just a collection of houses.

“A quintessentially English village green and balancing pond offer fantastic outdoor space for the whole community to share and enjoy,” says Megan. The surrounding mature trees give the site an ‘exclusive’ feel as well as providing an attractive secluded border.

Reason 5: Willowbrook is perfectly located for commuters.

Cranleigh once had its own busy station on an eponymous line between Guildford and Horsham, however Dr Beeching’s renowned report led to its closure in the mid-1960s. Despite this, Horsham and Guildford, both well-served and well-connected stations, are under half-an-hour’s drive away – ideal for London commuters who want to escape the city and its suburbs. The A24 and A3 are also a similar distance away.

Reason 6: There’s a scheme to help home movers sell and buy.

Willowbrook (Latimer)In addition to the government-backed Help to Buy initiative, Latimer has partnered with Savills, its sales agent at Willowbrook, to offer an assisted move scheme, which helps homeowners find buyers for their current properties and make the process smoother.

Reason 7: Latimer has community at its heart.

Megan comments: “As the development arm of Clarion Housing Group, the UK’s largest housing association, Latimer is committed to reinvesting profits made from private sale homes into supporting its communities and building more affordable homes. Distinct from profit-driven builders, a buyer’s purchase with Latimer can go some way to help alleviate the housing problem nationally, with the revenue utilised to help to build more affordable housing.”

Reason 8: High standards of customer service and support.

“The Latimer team is skilled and knowledgeable, able to support and advise a range of customers from first-time buyers to downsizers,” says Megan.

Reason 9: Latimer has a vast amount of experience in building in the South East.

With a large number of its developments focused in the Home Counties and commuter belt, the developer focuses on bringing a variety of new homes to the areas that need them, be that rural villages or large cities.

Reason 10: A focus on providing choice for buyers.

All its developments offer a range of homes in different sizes and price points, but all with a high-quality finish, transparent pricing structure, and community at their heart.

Prices at Willowbrook currently start at £400,000 for ‘The Dunlin’, a two-bedroom house type, £480,000 for ‘The Gadwell’ with three bedrooms, and £740,000 for the four-bedroom, 1,490-sq-ft ‘The Rana’. The show home and marketing suite are open from Thursday to Monday, 10.00am to 5.00pm.
