Housebuilder’s Help To Buy Deadline In Home Counties
Posted 11 December 2020 by
Keith OsborneWeston Homes is offering a final chance to use the current version of the Help to Buy scheme at three of its developments in the Home Counties – but house-hunters only have a few days to reserve a home to take up the offer.
There are homes in East Grinstead, Maidstone and Watford which qualify for the deal, but reservations must be made by Tuesday 15 December, and the property ready to move into and purchase completed by 31 March 2021.
The selection of apartments at Queens Walk in East Grinstead starts from £219,000 for a one-bedroom apartment and £287,000 for a two-bedroom apartment. The development is a striking modern building with expanses of glazing, contrasting brickwork and panelling, eight storeys high at its apex, designed around a central communal garden. The stepped façade benefits from floor-to-ceiling windows, with private outside space provided in the form of balconies, recessed terraces and roof terraces.
Located 27 miles south of Central London, East Grinstead is one of the oldest London commuter towns in the country. It is also the busiest London rail commuter town in the UK, having more daily rail passengers travelling into central London than any other town or suburb in the country. The homes are therefore ideal for young couples and working professionals as well as first-time buyers.
Suzanne Aplin, sales and marketing director at Weston Homes commented: “Weston Homes is very much open for business as we look to invite Help to Buy purchasers to Queens Walk to reserve their home ahead of the Help to Buy deadline and avoid disappointment. Queens Walk provides exceptional private homes and gardens with commercial space catering to the wider community, situated in a well-connected area.”
Watford Cross
The limited selection of eligible one- and two-bedroom Help to Buy apartments at Watford Cross start from £305,000 for a one-bedroom apartment and £407,000 for a two-bedroom apartment.
Situated on St Albans Road, Watford Cross comprises 115 private one, two- and three-bedroom apartments, with the majority providing private balconies and terraces, along with commercial space. Comprising two multi-level buildings, named Meriden and Orchard, Watford Cross provides homes within leafy landscaped grounds and communal gardens.
Apartments have forest oak doors with polished chrome ironmongery, oak strip wood flooring, a choice of various finishes to enable buyers to personalise them. Kitchens include Zanussi stainless steel electric fan oven, ceramic hob and integrated fridge/freezer.
Residents will also be offered the choice of designer units by Oakwood Kitchens and quartz worktops and upstands. The kitchens provide LED lighting under kitchen wall units and Fascino instant boiling water taps. Luxury bathrooms and en-suite bathrooms have Fascino digitally controlled smart taps, smart mirrors with LED lighting, shaver socket, digital clock and de-mist pad as well as smart showers and baths.
Help to Buy units at Springfield Park in Maidstone start from £211,000 for a one-bedroom apartment and £236,000 for a two-bedroom apartment. The development provides the largest volume of new homes in Maidstone, comprising 502 residences set to be fully completed in Spring 2022.
Located on banks of the River Medway, Springfield Park provides a tranquil setting above the banks of the river. The brickwork exterior of each of the buildings offers a contemporary and smart façade, highlighted by the steel railings of each private apartment’s balconies. The buildings face out onto landscaped gardens and courtyards with views of the River Medway offering a peaceful, rural ambience.
Maidstone is one of the most well-connected county towns in South East England with one-hour direct trains into London Victoria and St Pancras.
By implementing measures ensuring all sales offices and marketing suites are COVID secure, Weston Homes have been operating since the housing market re-opened in May.
