Show Home Opened In Penicuik

Posted 6 July 2023 by Keith Osborne

Taylor Wimpey has worked with interiors designers Abercromby Duncan on two four-bedroom show houses at Greenlaw Mains...

To provide new home-seekers with a glimpse of what its development at Greenlaw Mains in Penicuik has to offer, Taylor Wimpey has unveiled two impressive four-bedroom detached show homes – the ‘Douglas’ and the ‘Geddes’. Each one is designed to inspire buyers who are keen to get on the move this year.

Showcasing the latest interior looks, each show home provides buyers with the opportunity to experience the superb quality and lifestyle that Taylor Wimpey offers at Greenlaw Mains. Streets ahead in the style stakes, these homes have been thoughtfully designed to offer space for growing families and have great kerb appeal.

Suzanne Duncan, interior designer and MD of Abercromby Duncan said: “We’ve worked hard to create rooms that really make an impact in each of these beautiful showhomes at Greenlaw Mains in Penicuik. By tapping into key trends that we’re seeing, we have given potential buyers lots of helpful interior design tips they could easily replicate in their own new home.

“Whole walls of wall art are easy to achieve with wallpaper adorned with dramatic leaf prints and abstract patterns. You’ll see our designs aim to make the most of this look using both colour and monochrome tones in different rooms to create a bold style statement throughout both the ‘Douglas’ and ‘Geddes’ show homes.

“Don’t be afraid of colour – we have used strong colours on walls and in our furniture choices throughout these stylish homes such as the sumptuous velvet sofa in the lounge of the ‘Douglas’ that sees us carrying that eye-catching colour through to styling in the modern kitchen and it also pops as a colour in the bedrooms. Or the sage green on every wall in the downstairs WC that adds a boost of natural style to even the smallest room in the house.

“Next door in the ‘Geddes’, we’ve balanced ochre with shades of teal and pops of raspberry to maximise every space in this impressive four-bedroom family home. The kitchen/diner and family area has been styled to show buyers just how flexible this space is with a beautiful place to cook, an area to relax and space for six people to eat together at the dining room table.

“Our practical tips include using collections of pictures and statement pieces to add interest and using mirrors to maximise every piece of natural daylight whilst giving you the chance to personalise your rooms. And be generous with cushions in your statement colours to make those rooms designed for relaxing as cosy as possible.

“There’s always a real mix of new trends for us all to delve into and really each new home should be considered a blank canvas and the world your interior design oyster. We hope these two new show homes at Greenlaw Mains inspire buyers considering a move to Penicuik!”

Kirsty McGill, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey East Scotland said: “We understand that it’s important for people to visualise themselves in a new home before they commit to buying it. Following the unveiling of our two show homes in Penicuik, we hope that house-hunters will pay us a visit and be inspired by what they see to be able to make their move to a new home this year.”

Located off Belwood Road, Greenlaw Mains offers buyers a choice of two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom homes. Prices currently range from £375,000 for the ‘Geddes’ four-bedroom detached up to £466,000 for the ‘Wallace’ five bedroom detached. Find out more from Taylor Wimpey.
