Show Homes Open In Ratho Station

Posted 14 September 2023 by Keith Osborne

Taylor Wimpey has opened the doors to a pair of brand new show houses at Lauder Grove, west of Edinburgh...

Taylor Wimpey East Scotland has unveiled two four-bedroom detached show houses at Lauder Grove in Ratho Station.

‘The Douglas’ and ‘The Fairbairn’ have been thoughtfully designed with kerb appeal to offer space for growing families. The development is located off Glasgow Road, between Newbridge and Edinburgh, and currently offers a range of two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom homes with prices ranging from £264,000 to £517,000.

Of the new show homes, Suzanne Duncan, interior designer and MD of Abercromby Duncan, commented: “We’ve worked hard to create rooms that really make an impact in each of these beautiful show homes at Lauder Grove in Ratho Station. By tapping into key trends that we’re seeing, we have given potential buyers lots of helpful interior design tips they could easily replicate in their own new home.

“Whole walls of wall art are easy to achieve with wallpaper adorned with natural and delicate leaf prints or abstract patterns that make you smile. You’ll see our designs aim to make the most of the approach of using both colour and muted, natural tones and textures in different rooms to create bold style statements in every room of each show home.

“Don’t be afraid of colours and pattern – used together they will bring a space to life. Within the ‘Douglas’ four-bedroom detached home we’ve used shades of green and a variety of patterns and prints to create a flow between our rooms. They say there are ’40 shades of green’ and we’ve used many, along with large leaf prints and the addition of real plants to create a naturally calming place to call home.

“We’ve also combined shades of green to add styling in the modern anthracite grey kitchen and it also pops as a colour throughout the bedrooms and bathroom upstairs.

“Next door in the ‘Fairbairn’ four-bedroom detached, it’s all about mixing muted tones of ochre and duck-egg blue with natural textures to maximise every space in this stylish home. The impressive tan leather sofa in the lounge offers a luxurious space to relax at the end of a busy day, and we’ve also been sure to give each bedroom its own individuality which showcases the flexible space this home offers everyone in a growing family home.

“Our practical tips include using collections of pictures and statement pieces to add interest and make use of mirrors to maximise every piece of natural daylight whilst giving you the chance to personalise your rooms. And be generous with cushions in your statement colours to make those rooms designed for relaxing as cosy as possible.

“There’s always a real mix of new trends for us all to delve into and really each new home should be considered a blank canvas and the world your interior design oyster. We hope these two new show homes at Lauder Court inspire buyers considering a move to Ratho Station!”

Lauder Grove enjoys a convenient location at West Mains in Ratho Station, off Glasgow Road. As well as the open market properties for sale, a choice of two- and three-bedroom homes have also just been released as part of Edinburgh Council’s Golden Share scheme with prices starting from £209,600. This scheme allows buyers to purchase a new home at less than the Open Market Value (OMV) – they will own 100% of the home but pay 80%.

Kirsty McGill, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey East Scotland, added: “We understand that it’s important for people to visualise themselves in a new home before they commit to buying it.

“Revealing our beautiful show homes to customers considering a move to this impressive development on the outskirts of Edinburgh is a real milestone, and we have years of experience helping buyers through the process of buying a new home.

“A visit to our new show homes offers buyers an ideal opportunity to pop in and chat with our local sales executive to find out more about how we can help to make a move to a new home this year a reality.”
