Shared Ownership Apartments Now In Southampton

A collection of 24 new apartments are for sale on a part buy-part rent basis at Chapel Riverside on the River Itchen...

Affordable housing provider St. Arthur Homes has announced a brand new partnership with Inland Homes at Southampton-based development Chapel Riverside and introduced a limited number of properties available to purchase through Shared Ownership.

The 24 new one- and two-bedroom Shared Ownership apartments at Chapel Riverside will offer purchasers the opportunity to buy a 50% share of the full market value, while paying a subsidised rent on the remaining share of the property. For a one-bedroom apartment with a full market value of £190,000, purchasers will only have to save a £9,500 deposit compared to £19,000 for private sale, and then pay monthly mortgage payments on their share of the property, rather than the full market value. As and when they are able to, purchasers can increase their share at any time, all the way up to 100% and outright ownership.
