Shared Ownership retirement homes to launch in Lambeth next weekend

A development of new homes combining affordability and high-level age-related care is about to be unveiled on London's South Bank...

A brand new development combining the benefits of purpose-built retirement property with the affordability assisted of the Shared Ownership scheme is being launched along London’s South Bank this weekend (Saturday 1 October).

Using a distinctive contemporary design, the properties at Bankhouse are aimed at buyers over 55-years-old and provide Extra Care facilities, meaning a high level of tailored medical and domestic shared for those residents that need it.

Built by Season, part of One Housing, the 36 one- and two-bedroom apartments are set out on the upper levels of a 14-storey tower and marketed by Site Sales. There are six different layout options, and buyers can own between 60% and 75% of the property under the Shared Ownership scheme, which is open to retired London residents of 55+ who don’t own any other properties.

These new homes are launched at an event taking place on Saturday 1 October at The Park Plaza Riverbank Hotel, situated adjacent to the Bankhouse development, on the Albert Embankment, SE1, from 11.00am to 3.00pm.

There’s lift access throughout the building, and great views from the upper storeys. The development also provides a number of communal areas, such as a restaurant, licensed bar and club lounge, along with a garden terrace. 

Prices for these one- and two-bedroom apartments start at £565,000 with the minimum 60% Shared Ownership being £339,000 and the maximum 75% Shared Ownership purchase costing from £423,750.

The development is situated on Albert Embankment opposite the Tate Britain, offering residents views of The River Thames, The Oval and The Shard depending on the direction they are facing. The development is close to Vauxhall Tube station, around 10 minutes’ walk away or less on a bus from a stop on the doorstep.
