A new development of apartments launches close to Epsom town centre on Saturday 19 September...

According to the recently released National Wellbeing Measures survey, Epsom is the most satisfying place to live in Surrey, with residents said to be the happiest and least stressed in comparison to neighbouring towns/ villages.

Launching on Saturday 19 September, Epsom Reach by Shanly Homes will provide the ideal apartment for busy city workers looking to strike the ultimate in work life balance and set down roots in a bustling Surrey town.

Sarah Jones, new homes partner at selling agents Barnard Marcus commented: “Post-lockdown has seen a surge in residential sales within the Epsom area as purchasers look to take advantage of the Help to Buy scheme and Stamp Duty holiday. Epsom Reach provides an exciting opportunity for investors or home hunters looking to achieve the balance of contemporary apartment living, with great travel connections into London, Guildford and beyond.”

Jo McDonagh, sales director at Shanly Homes said: “We are thrilled to be launching a brand-new collection of just 21 apartments within a stone’s throw of Epsom town centre. The open-plan layouts will suit a range of buyers, whilst the areas amenities are second to none with a fantastic high street, open green space and the famous Epsom Racecourse nearby. We are sure that these apartments will be extremely popular and encourage interested parties to contact our selling agents today.”

The newly unveiled show apartment stylishly showcases the specification of all apartments at Epsom Reach. Upon entering the home, residents are greeted by an expansive hallway, complete with built-in storage – ideal for hiding away coats, umbrellas and re-usable shopping bags. At the far end of the home the kitchen/living/dining area forms the focus of the property. Completed to a high finish and benefitting from integrated appliances, the room provides space for entertaining friends and family, or relaxing at the end of a long day. The apartment’s private outdoor terrace is accessed via floor-to-ceiling sliding doors, ensuring the living space basks in light whilst also creating a bonus area during the spring and summer months.

The master bedroom is the jewel in the crown of this home: built-in wardrobes provide plenty of space for clothing and shoes, whilst the room has a full-height window. Bedroom two is well sized, and can easily fit a double bed and other bedroom furniture, creating a great space for guests to stay. Alternatively, those living alone may like to transform this room into a walk-in wardrobe/dressing room. Residents who work from home regularly will be pleased with bedroom three which acts as a great space for a dedicated home office. Either of these rooms could also serve as a children’s nursery/playroom.

Steeped in history, the town of Epsom has plenty going for it. Forming a feature in the bustling town centre, Epsom Clock Tower, was originally a weather boarded Watch House that dates back to approximately 1711, and the local Weatherspoon’s pub was one of the first Assembly Rooms to be built in England, they housed not only meetings, but also the towns tavern, coffee house, billiard room and gaming rooms.

Now a modern town, Epsom has a range of shops, boutiques and restaurants for residents to explore. Sainsbury’s superstore is just across the road from Epsom Reach, while approximately a 14-minute walk from home, The Ashley Centre is home to a range of shops including H&M, The Body Shop, New Look, M&S and Waitrose. Local eateries and bars include the incredibly popular Japanese restaurant Makiyaki, Bills, Cabello Lounge and Le Raj guaranteeing there will be something to suit all tastes.

The local Odeon Cinema Luxe is just a 15-minute walk away and has recently been upgraded to ensure the best in cinematic viewing. Epsom Playhouse is also a stone’s throw away, providing shows throughout the year including touring musicals, pantomimes and stand-up comedy. Gym goers are well placed at Epsom Reach. Rainbow Leisure Centre is just a five-minute walk away, providing members with access to a gym, large swimming pool and fitness classes, while in the centre of town residents will find Pure Gym, Anytime Fitness, David Lloyd and Fitness Theory amongst others.

As to be expected from a leafy Surrey town, there is plenty of greenspace on the doorstep too. Alexandra Recreation Ground is just a short walk away and is home to the local cricket and football pitches, martial arts centre, bowling green, basketball and tennis courts as well as an outdoor table tennis facility. Rosebery Park is also close by with a children’s play area and duck pond creating an idyllic spot for an evening or weekend stroll. For those who like a longer walk, Epsom Downs is less than two miles away and offers fantastic walking routes while residents who enjoy horse racing can take advantage of The Epsom Downs Racecourse, famous for the Epsom Derby. Epsom Common is just a short drive away, home to a variety of walking or running routes, Epsom Lake and a range of country pubs.

In terms of travel, residents couldn’t be better connected. Epsom station is under a 15-minute walk from Epsom Reach, providing commuters with mainline train connections to London Waterloo (39 mins), London Bridge (44 mins), London Victoria (39 mins) and Guildford (34 mins). The M25 can be easily accessed via Junction 9 in approximately nine minutes, offering easy access to the wider motorway network.
