A number of guests were welcomed to Quinn Homes’ Grove Park development in Sellindge in Kent…

Last week, local councillors, officers and stakeholders were welcomed to Quinn Homes’ Grove Park development in Sellindge, Kent's first large scale development of EPC 'A' rated new homes, incorporating the latest in green technology.

Delivered by award-winning developer Quinn Homes, the development incorporates solar panels, air source heat pumps, highly efficient insulation, EV charge points and flow regulated taps. Grove Park also includes a biodiversity rich wetland and large areas of landscaped green space which incorporate established wooded areas.

Guests were given a tour of the newly launched show home, followed by a presentation on how the development sets the standard for sustainable development, in terms of water conservation, energy efficiency and innovative construction techniques, and then a tour of the site to view some of the key elements that sets Grove Park apart including the mature hedgerows, new animal habitats and wetland proposal.

Ben Geering, planning director at Quinn Homes, says: “From the outset, we sought to deliver a truly outstanding new development. The setting of Grove Park, with a boundary of mature trees and mature hedgerows throughout, has enabled us to promote the natural world with barn owl, tawny owl and kestrel boxes put around the site. In addition, every house has a swift brick installed.

Aligned with the vision of a highly sustainable site, we have been able to deliver homes that are EPC 'A' rated, an outstanding achievement with input from everyone at the Quinn Homes team and a planning authority seeking to push housebuilders to deliver the very best in new homes and new developments.”

Conservationist and wildlife film maker, Richard Taylor-Jones was also in attendance to showcase the Nature Box, which every resident at Grove Park will receive upon moving in. Seeking to make the human world a wilder one, the box contains a wildflower seed bomb, bird box, bird feeder, insect house and pond voucher.

Richard Taylor-Jones adds: “I think it's really important to work with developers to make a difference to the impact we're having on the world around us and the Nature Box is one of the ways in which I'm doing this. I've approached some of the biggest companies in the country but Quinn Homes is the first housebuilder to adopt this on their new developments. We've already seen the impact it's having as people are genuinely invested in the difference its making and there's a real sense of community as people are engaging with one another on what wildlife they're seeing in their gardens thanks to the Nature Box.”

The show home is now open for prospective purchasers. Grove Park has a collection of two-, three- and four-bedroom homes available.
