Show Apartment To Open In Edinburgh
Queensberry Properties is about to unveil a show apartment at its Waverley Square development in Edinburgh.
The development forms part of the wider £240million New Waverley regeneration initiative in the heart of the Old Town to blend with one of the city’s most historic districts, within walking distance of the city’s cultural, commercial and political landmarks.
The two-bedroom show apartment is a rich yet refined take on city life, with neutral-toned designer kitchens and leather sofas, which are offset by sophisticated soft furnishings and bold artwork.
The show home is one of 66 apartments, mews and galleried penthouses that range in size from one to three bedrooms, many with outdoor space in the form of balconies or terraces, providing stunning views across the capital.
The show apartment scheme was designed by Suzanne Thomas, creative director at Blocc Interiors, who has used a palette of ‘tobacco’ shades accented by jewel colours to create a sophisticated yet eclectic space that feels very much at home within the World Heritage landscape of Scotland’s capital city
Included in the design is a bespoke media unit, dining table and super-king size bed – large pieces that fit perfectly within this spacious interior – while the mix of crisp bedlinen, velvet cushions, textural wall coverings and semi-abstract artwork give the apartment a sense of refined luxury and personality.
Suzanne Thomas said: “The brief was to create a strong yet classic design. The use of colourful touches, in particular the emerald greens, royal blues and mustard yellows, combined with the leather upholstery, have resulted in a smart, city vibe that is both elegant and masculine in tone without being overwhelming.”
The exterior of Waverley Square is equally striking, featuring a strong mix of high-quality materials, including natural sandstone, metal and brick, with bi-fold shutters to many balconies and a striking terracotta coloured feature tower to the imposing West elevation. All apartments have floor-to-ceiling windows, generous living spaces, a large, landscaped communal courtyard and private underground parking, with properties ranging in size from 630 to 1,690 sq ft.
The contemporary mix of luxury apartments with boutique retail spaces below reflect Edinburgh’s position as a renowned global capital city.
Apartments at Waverley Square are available to reserve now. A recent report from Colliers International named Edinburgh as the second-best UK city for residential development.
Hazel Davies, sales and marketing director of Queensberry Properties, said: “Such an exceptional location demands an outstanding development and that’s what we have created in the historic centre of Edinburgh.
“From its proximity to the Scottish Parliament and the capital’s finest cultural and shopping districts, to the easy access it offers to the city’s financial sector, Waverley Square holds great appeal for buyers who demand a very high standard of living and for whom the heart of Edinburgh is a very desirable location. And with a third of the development already reserved during the off-plan sales campaign, I’d encourage prospective buyers to get in touch now.”
Prices at Waverley Square start at £380,000 for a one-bedroom apartment. All properties have a specification which includes designer German kitchens with integrated Siemens appliances, sanitaryware by Laufen and quality floor coverings throughout as standard.
Queensberry Properties has also opened a striking unfurnished three-bedroom walk-through apartment, while their virtual apartment selector system allows users to explore the location, experience the properties and download particulars of Waverley Square using interactive technology from the comfort of their own home.
Selling agents, Rettie & Co, are now taking reservations and bookings for viewing appointments for the show apartment. Find out more at [email protected] or waverley-square.com.
