Woking is a historic town situated south west of London in the Surrey commuter belt. London is some 25 away minutes by train and the town is close to both the M3 and M25 motorways.
Woking was first recorded as a monastery site in the 8th Century, though modern Woking has built up around the Basingstoke Canal, which opened in 1794, and the railway station, built in 1838.
Knaphill
Knaphill is a large village to the west of Woking with a population of around 9,000.
