Final Apartments At Affordable East London Development

Posted 25 July 2022 by Helen Christie

Pocket Living’s development in Barking, Harbard Close, has just six apartments remaining…

Pocket Living delivers homes specifically for first-time buyers living or working in London for at least 20% below market value for the area they are located.

With prices at Harbard Close starting at £192,000, this is a fantastic chance for prospective first-time buyers to get their foot onto the property ladder and move into a brand new home in prime East London at an affordable price.

To put this price into perspective, according to the ONS’ June 2022 House Price Index statistics, the average price for a home in Barking and Dagenham is £336,126, whilst for London more generally the average is £529,829. This means that these Pocket Living homes are more than 40% cheaper than the average house price in Barking, and over 60% below the average house price in London as a whole.

Harbard Close (Pocket Living)

Harbard Close is just half a mile from Barking station with excellent transport links into both central London and the rest of East London, great for commuting and socialising. Each of the 78 one-bedroom discounted Pocket homes benefit from well-designed open plan kitchen and living spaces, separate bedrooms, and Juliet balconies. At 38 sqm, the apartments are space standard compliant and provide all the necessary design features for a first time buyer to comfortably live and work in an urban city. The one-bedroom Pocket home is divided into three separate rooms accessed from a hallway. This includes an open-plan kitchen / living space, a double bedroom and a wet room with a large walk-in shower area.

Residents also have access to on-site allotment beds for green-fingered buyers to use and secure bike storage inside the building, as well as a Garden Room, which is a communal space that is available free of charge for residents to use and includes dedicated co-working spaces and pods and also has bean bags, electrical sockets and space to host events.
