Retirees And Families Welcome To New Homes Virtual Tours

Posted 7 May 2020 by Keith Osborne

Private retirement specialist is seeing keen interest for remote virtual viewings of its age-exclusive new homes...

Platinum Skies, the private retirement specialist who offer Shared Ownership across all their developments, have reported a welcome number of online enquiries that have often resulted in initial telephone engagement with a sales manager.

Jes Gill, one of Platinum Skies' sales team explains: “After an introductory phone call, I invite prospective buyers (and if not so tech savvy, guide them) to take a virtual tour of one of the current developments via our website, on their home laptop, iPad or PC, encouraging questions and supplying answers throughout the session. Both the prospective purchasers and their families have in certain instances joined in, and several of these group ‘viewings’ are already leading to potential reservations.”

David Hines, COO of Platinum Skies, adds: “Our sales team are remaining busy throughout the lockdown period, with new buyers wanting information on all of our schemes in South-West England.

“At each of our developments, we are offering guided virtual tours, with purchasers able to have face-to-face video conversations with our sales team, as they navigate through the development. We have a number of show homes at each scheme, as well as tours of the communal spaces and outdoor areas, so buyers really get a sense of the development as a whole. The videos are fully interactive, so purchasers can zoom in on specification details , such as kitchen cabinetry and bathroom finishes, as well as view rooms from different angles, to really get a sense of the space.

“At Chapters, our multi-phase retirement village in Salisbury town centre, we have three show homes available to view virtually, each located in different phases of the village. Alongside this are tours of the on-site bistro and communal lounge, plus walk-throughs of the courtyard garden, showcasing the full breadth of on-site amenities.

“We also have aerial drone footage of each development, so buyers get a sense of what the immediate surroundings look like, and how the building fits within the local area. At Vista in Poole, residents can see the mesmerising views of Poole Harbour which is enjoyed from practically every apartment. Meanwhile from the upper levels at Chapters, the distinctive spire of Salisbury Cathedral can be spotted in all its glory.”

Jes concludes: “Of course the viewers can return countless times on their own to walk through the developments and show homes, before progressing to a possible reservation. Our customers are encouraged to take their time with the team on hand every step of the way with information and advice. We also like to make sure that their family members and friends are also involved in the journey. This personal online approach seems to suit many, so may well continue to grow even after the developments re-open for live viewings.”
