Latest Release At Leith Walk Regeneration
Places for People has launched the second phase of homes at The Engine Yard, part of a regeneration scheme for a Grade B listed former tram depot.
The project will deliver a total of 377 new homes for sale and rent through a sensitively restoration of period buildings and some new builds. The site is under a mile from the city centre and is being transformed from a long-neglected and derelict site to restore its period architecture, with tram sheds, a chimney, a boundary wall and gables.
Regional sales director of Scotland, Allison Sutherland, said "We’re delighted to release a range of city centre homes and we are already receiving interest from customers, which is fantastic. This new phase will consist of a mix of one- and two-bedroom apartments and two- and three-bedroom penthouses, all set amongst beautiful landscaped courtyards with secure underground parking and an on-site fitness centre."
Currently available are one-bedroom units from £255,000 and those with two bedrooms and a private balcony or terrace start from £340,000.
Homes have been designed to maximise space and light with dual aspect windows. From the balconies and terraces on selected plots, residents can also enjoy in Edinburgh’s cityscape and the distant countryside.
Leith Walk is one of the longest streets in Edinburgh and comes with its own wide range of shops and places to eat and drink, with schools, a library and a post office all close by. It’s only 10 minutes’ walk to the city’s Waverley station and many places for shopping, entertainment and culture. There’s a proposed tramways extension which would stop right by the development.
