Keith OsbornePersimmon Homes, one of Britain’s largest housebuilders, is currently offering a number of two- and three-bedroom homes at sites in Devon and for buyers with a £300,000 budget, there are some great options to consider.
Located on the edge of Dartmoor in Okehampton, Fatherford View has two-, three- and four-bedroom houses priced from £229,500 up to £539,950. There’s a great selection of independent shops, eateries, schools and leisure facilities in the historic town, within walking distance of the development. There’s much more to explore in Exeter too, just half-an-hour away
Here, for the budget we are considering, buyers could consider ‘The Danbury’ from £275,000, with its good-sized living room, an open-plan kitchen/diner room, family bathroom, two double bedrooms (one with en suite), and a single bedroom that could make a great study. This house type comes in semi-detached and terrace versions.
‘The Morden’
Ashworth Place is under five miles from central Exeter and has two-, three- and four-bedroom homes from £247,000. There are plenty of local amenities and a great choice of both primary and secondary schools close to home. Exeter has excellent transport links and this part of the world provides great access to delightful countryside and coast.
‘The Morden’ end-terrace at £264,995 has an open-plan downstairs combining kitchen/living and dining room, with French doors to the garden. There’s also a downstairs WC. Both bedrooms are doubles and share a family bathroom. There’s a private parking space at the front of the home. There’s a mid-terrace version of the house type for £247,000.
Selling from Ashworth Place is a new phase of a development on the eastern side of Exeter, called Hill Barton Vale. The two- and three-bedroom houses available right now start at £289,995 for ‘The Welwyn’. This semi-detached home has a cloakroom off the hallway and a lounge at the front, with the kitchen/dining room at the back, with French doors to the garden. Upstairs are two double bedrooms (one with built-in storage) and a bathroom.
‘The Barton’
Swan Park is on the northern outskirts of Dawlish, under two miles from the town centre. The development is opposite a Sainsbury’s store but it’s only a few minutes to a range of shops and amenities and a great choice of places to go out for a drink and meal. Exeter is only 30 minutes away.
Homes are priced from £244,995, with a choice of terrace, semi-detached and detached homes with from two to four bedrooms. A great choice would be ‘The Barton’, priced at £279,995. This has a kitchen/dining room, a lounge and cloakroom on the ground floor and three bedrooms and bathroom upstairs. Bedroom one comes with an en suite and bedroom three might be equally useful as a home office. This semi-detached home comes with a private driveway.
‘The Alnwick’
Bradley Barton View in Newton Abbot will be delivering a mix of two-, three- and four-bedroom homes in a residential area on the western side of town but only a few minutes from its centre and the well-served railway station. The A38 is only eight minutes away. Prices here start from £245,000 right now.
Bradley Barton View is currently being sold from Swan Park, and there’s another example of ‘The Barton’ here too at £289,995. An alternative within the budget is ‘The Alnwick’ at £259,995. Off the hallway is the cloakroom and a door to the lounge and the front of the home, which in turn leads past some useful understairs storage to the kitchen/diner with its French doors to the garden. The bathroom upstairs serves two double bedrooms. There’s private parking outside.
‘The Hanbury’
In the north of the county, just outside Barnstaple, is Tawcroft, with two-, three- and four-bedroom houses from £252,000, at the time of writing. The town’s excellent mix of independent and big-brand shops, variety of amenities, leisure facilities and eateries are not far away, and there’s a retail park close at hand too. The A39 is just minutes away for access to numerous towns along the coast.
At £289,995, ‘The Hanbury’ comfortably fits our budget and is a very popular house type at Persimmon developments. The kitchen/diner at the back has French doors to the garden, and there’s a separate lounge at the front. Downstairs also has a cloakroom and some storage space under the stairs. Bedroom one has an en suite shower room and the other two bedrooms can share the bathroom.
