Help to Buy Clinic At Brighton Development
Posted 15 September 2022 by
Helen ChristieOn Saturday 24 September, housing association Optivo is hosting a free Help to Buy clinic at its Home X development in Brighton, giving prospective buyers a chance to learn more about the Help to Buy Equity Loan scheme which will soon be coming to an end.
The popular government-backed initiative, which gives buyers a helping hand onto the property ladder with as little as a 5% deposit, is coming to an end in March 2023, however the final date to reserve a home using the scheme is 31 October 2022. Optivo’s team will be on hand along with independent financial advisors who will be able to provide free expert advice.
Home X is an exciting new neighbourhood, forming a key part of the Preston Barracks Regeneration on Lewes Road being delivered in collaboration with U&I, Brighton & Hove City Council and the University of Brighton.
The collection of 369 new build homes offer studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments which are ready to move into now with Help to Buy. Apartments are bright and spacious with open plan living spaces, kitchens are fitted with smart and energy-efficient Siemens integrated appliances and bathrooms with modern matt black fixtures and fittings. Many apartments come with either their own balcony or a terrace.
Residents also benefit from the new community taking shape that includes landscaped outdoor spaces and inspiring flexible workspaces, concierge and well-being space. New commercial spaces include a convenience store, café and workshops, alongside a medical centre and pharmacy, all a short walk from the sea.
Jane Williams, head of sales and marketing, at Optivo, comments: “Help to Buy has provided vital support for those looking to get onto the property ladder, with many of our first residents having used the scheme, forming part of the exciting community that is being created here. We look forward to welcoming prospective buyers, with experts on hand to discuss Help to Buy and how it can help them realise their dream of home ownership by the seaside.”
Tom Bryant, head of new homes for the South East at Savills, adds: “With a shortage of Help to Buy stock in the area, Optivo is making a real difference with the provision of high quality new homes in an exciting new neighbourhood. There has been a lot of interest over the past few months, as the deadline to use the scheme approaches.”
A striking new bridge now links the new community with neighbouring residential areas. Lewes Road Bridge will be for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists, bringing the communities of Saunders Park View closer to Lewes Road and Moulsecoomb Station, as well as bus routes into town and the seaside.
Home X is on the market through Savills, with prices starting at £257,000 for a studio apartment, £289,000 for a one-bedroom apartment and £391,000 for a two-bedroom apartment, all available with Help to Buy. Other homes are also available to purchase with Shared Ownership.
The event runs between 11.00am and 4.00pm on Saturday 24 September at the marketing suite which can be found on Lewes Road, Brighton, BN2 4GL.
