An Edwardian water pump house has been converted to a luxury new two-bedroom home near the Malvern Hills...

A fascinating property that began life as an Edwardian water pump house has been renovated for sale as a luxury two-bedroom home in a town near the beautiful Malvern Hills.

Worcestershire estate agency Nicol & Co is marketing The Old Pump House in New Street, Upton-upon-Severn, for £350,000. The character detached building from 1908 has been converted into a high-standard residential dwelling with open-plan living space downstairs, while both upstairs bedrooms have en suite facilities.

Erica Hinwood, who heads the Malvern operations for Nicol & Co, said: “This incredible former pump house has been carefully converted into a unique home. The location is stunning, overlooking fields yet within easy walking distance of the town centre, and benefiting from a gated driveway, a low-maintenance garden and new flood defences.

“Reclaimed materials have been used throughout to maintain the building’s charm, with the original refurbished wooden front door opening into the ground floor living space. Light fills this room from every direction and divides the space nicely into the lounge, dining areas and an impressive kitchen fitted with modern and stylish sink, stove and fridge freezer.

The Old Pump House “The property’s kitchen has tiled flooring complete with underfloor heating, while engineered oak flooring flows through the rest of the ground floor, with a hatch in the rear hall accessing a cellar for extra storage.”

Hinwood said that The Old Pump House, which was originally used to house a pump that extracted water from a local well, was already receiving calls from interested potential buyers.

She added: “This really is a lovely property that will soon become a much-loved home with some special historical features.”
