Final Home Back On The Market At Somerset Site

Posted 15 March 2022 by Keith Osborne

The four-bedroom 'Hazelton' at Mendip Gate is ready to move into and comes with a number of upgrades...

Newland Homes has put the final house at its Mendip Gate development back on the market, so there is still a chance to nab a perfect property there.

It is called ‘The Hazelton’, and it is a double-fronted detached house with a single detached garage. Into the hallway and off to one side, at the front of the house, is the lounge. Walking towards the rear of the house you pass the dining room and a handy storage cupboard under the stairs to reach the real heart the home, an open-plan kitchen/breakfast room with French doors to the garden. Off this room is the utility room and a WC. Upstairs are two double bedrooms (one with en suite and built-in wardrobe) and two single bedrooms which could alternatively serve other functions, such as a home office or hobby room. A bathroom and airing cupboard complete the layout.

There’s an impressive standard specification which includes integrated kitchen appliances; Villeroy and Boch white sanitaryware and chrome fittings to bathroom and en suite; USB charging points provided in kitchen, lounge and principal bedroom; a number of telephone and TV points throughout; and fitted wardrobes to bedroom one. This final home is ready to move into and priced at £460,000, with flooring and light fittings included.

As with all detached properties at Mendip Gate, and reflecting the Newland Homes’ commitment to eco-conscious homes, there are eight solar panels (exceeding official requirements) to assist with electricity, integrated eco-bins designed into every kitchen to encourage recycling, rain waterbutts and composters. Outside, wiring has been included for an optional electric vehicle charging point.

Mendip Gate comprises 40 homes, a variety of three-, four- and five-bedroom houses, and it is located in a picturesque area between the villages of Churchill and Langford in Somerset’s Chew Valley. It is bordered to the south by the Mendip Hills – a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) – and is within striking distance of Bristol (half-an-hour’s drive to the city centre) and Bath (50 minutes) plus just a short drive from the beaches at Brean and Weston-super-Mare, both around 30 minutes away.
