New homes in East Hampshire launched at special event

Posted 12 December 2016 by Keith Osborne

A new development of homes on a former barracks site is just one element of the regeneration of an eastern corner of Hampshire...

A brand new collection of new homes was opened recently at a special launch in Bordon, Hampshire, where the local council leader officially launched a collection of two-, three- and four-bedroom homes from Eastleigh-based Radian Homes.

Cllr Ferris Cowper of East Hampshire District Council unveiled the first homes for sale at this transformation of the Ministry of Defence Quebec Barracks. Eventually, some 100 new homes will be built here, with a variety of house types available, including coach houses, townhouses, terraces, and detached houses – to attract a diverse community to the new neighbourhood.

Prices on the first phase of three- and four-bedroom properties at Quebec Park start at £340,000, with Help to Buy available on selected plots. The show home is open seven days a week, from 10.00am to 5.30pm

These new homes are part of a wider regeneration programme proposed for Bordon and neighbouring Whitehill, which is also looking at better transport links, amenities and schools as well as a brand new town centre.

Cllr Cowper says: “The launch event at Quebec Park marks a pivotal moment in the regeneration of Whitehill and Bordon. Up to this point we have been planning and preparing the town for a prosperous and exciting future - this is the point that we can all start to see the tangible benefits right in front of us. The new residents will be able to enjoy a fantastic quality of life with green spaces, such as Bordon Inclosure which has numerous community events organised by the Deadwater Valley Trust, or at the Phoenix Theatre nearby. This is a wonderful time for Whitehill and Bordon, its residents and its businesses.”

Speaking of the housing development itself, Zoe Bonnington, assistant director of new business, sales and marketing at Radian, adds: “These new homes are expected to appeal to a wide range of people, from downsizers to first time buyers and young families. We’ve already had a great deal of interest from potential buyers, which is not surprising given the superb location, not only are the homes surrounded by the beautiful South Downs, it’s also close to the Surrey border which is perfect for those needing to commute to either Guildford or London.

In addition to smaller local towns and villages, Quebec Park is within easy reach of major Hampshire and Surrey towns, such as Alton, Farnham and Haslemere.
